Saw the shadow of a great La Mission but it faded after three hours — 7 years ago
So good. 25% done in oak barrels really makes a nice balanced crisp wine — 7 years ago
I know now this needs more time to integrate, but it’s down-soft in the background, so difficult to see a balanced future. Warm plum and black berry-currant, cranberry stuffing, rich chocolate, sherry trifle, all loosely sprinkled with fine graphite. Steamy jungle flora notes merge with hemp stem and black cherry skins. Hard chocolate entry bringing dried blackberry and even drier black cherry stripped naked in a sauna of chamomile and phantom eucalyptus outlines describing a swarthy shadow through steam. A recent denizen of the cedar benches, puffing sweet tobaccos? There is subtle power at play despite the fruit-forward leanings. I was initially on the fence with this. This one is enigmatic with a nod to Napa in the 1970s. #Napa #Walton #cab #cabernet #cabsauv4life #cabsav #california #egelhoff #EgelhoffWalton #Bobegelhoff #egelhoffwines #StHelena #sthelenacab — 7 years ago
Old Vines planted in 1945, the old country taste with a lighter earthy input, three grape blend, Syrah, Grenache and Barbera — 8 years ago
Delicious. Will wait before opening opening. Really good Shadow Canyon fruit, cool climate acidic. Lots of tannins and lots of oak. Will be great when it mellows in a few years. — 8 years ago
Sweeter than I remember, fruity honey — 9 years ago

Love this wine! Not too dry, just a tad bit sweeter than I like. Fruity. 2015 vintage. — 7 years ago
Yo eat this with some skirt steak and salsa you will not be disappointed. Might over shadow the meat that's ok — 8 years ago
Good body, sweet at the front, dry finish, fruity notes — 8 years ago
Cherry, raspberry, watermelon, cranberry and vanilla. Good acidity and balance. — 6 years ago
I’ve had Jurassic Park Chenin from a handful of producers and I really like Jeff Fischer’s version. It’s dry Chenin in the shadow of, maybe, Huet dry Chenin. Creamy and acidic, fruity, floral, and spiced. Peaches, white flowers, and baking spices upfront. It picks up body from the lees and some time in oak. — 6 years ago
Awesome from first whiff to last sip! Smooth and crisp with plenty of flavour layers. White fleshed fruits, gooseberries, melon & lemon-lime. But the show stopper is fresh cut grass and herbs notes which blend in perfectly with these other layers to tantilize your mouth, then cast the shadow of fresh cut bell pepper and limestone to cleanse in the finish😃 #winecollective #nzsbtastespectacular #2017decanterrated95 — 7 years ago

Great local Nebbiolo (from Warner Springs, CA, not Willamette). Ripe cherries, tobacco, hint of wild garlic. Tannins are assertive, but drinkable. Worth a stop if you are in the inland SD County area after the pandemic clears. Alex and Pam are great folks (and currently shipping for free for members). — 6 years ago
