Wanted to like this one but it was really fading. Loads of barn yard, iron, not a ton of fruit. Expected much more. — 7 years ago
Another 4th Friday for the books! What a variety this month!
At 24yrs old, it’s incredible how this drinks. Obviously past its prime, but by no means a lost bottle. Had never heard of this vineyard. Butterscotch, salted popcorn kernels, and cornbread note too. Still retaining some nice acidity! — 8 years ago
Amazing Pinot! — 8 years ago
2001 bright cherry and raspberry. — 9 years ago
Very deep purple color with ruby hues. On the nose: a bit of minerals, dark red fruit jam and pepper. Taste: medium tannins, a bit dry with hints of dried black cherries, plum and cracked black pepper. Good value. — 9 years ago
Delicious, fruity and clean...apricot, strawberry... — 7 years ago
Way too young. Wait a decade, at least. Wouldn’t be fair to judge honestly. Like a unbridled beast that just arrived in its new barn. — 7 years ago
Barn yard smell, almost carbonated. Delicious! — 7 years ago
Excellent wine on its own or wen with chicken Parmesan! — 8 years ago
2 hour decant (minimal fine sediment). The much hyped 2005 vintage!.....A dazzling dark purple/ruby red. On the nose: black fruit, forest floor, cedar, and the start of some barn yard funk. Taste: blackberry, currents, graphite, tar...tannins still there, but starting to sweeten with a long brooding finish. If you like em young and have some bottles, open one and keep the others for the next 20 years (we will pop another in 4 years). — 7 years ago

Best $18 bottle Pinot that I’ve had in quite some time. Thank you to the great people at the California Wine Country podcast and Bottle Barn in Santa Rosa for turning me onto this wine... — 7 years ago
Beautiful, dark red, perfume fruits. Black currants, blackberries, dark cherries, black plum, black raspberries, boysenberries, lots of blue fruits, expresso, anise, leather, some graphite, sweet dark moist soils, medium intensity volcanic minerals, limestone with blue and dark red floral bouquet.
The body is full. The tannins are round and nicely soften. The structure, length, tension and balance have hit harmony with plenty of life left ahead. Dark currants, blackberries, dark cherries, black plum, black raspberries, boysenberries, loads of blue fruits, expresso roast, anise, dark chocolate, a little caramel, leather, some graphite, leather, dry tobacco, touch of dry herbs, sweet dark moist soils, medium intensity volcanic minerals, limestone and blue and dark red floral bouquet. The acidity is round and beautiful. The finish is long, very well balanced, elegant, polished and lasts minutes.
Photos of; The barn used for winemaking and to host tastings. The first harvested Cabernet grapes of the season, an old school basket press that decorates their grounds, Estate vines and a giant fan to dry the vines if needed amongst the hilltop mountains that surround the Estate. — 8 years ago

Instant favorite , mad funky , barn-yardy and fruity. — 9 years ago
Barn funk smell, some tannin coming through the deep berries and high acid. Love Olivier Cousin. — 9 years ago

Double decant (lots of fine sediment). A beguiling Deep Purple [Machine Head rules]. On the nose: black fruit, earthy, floral some slight barn yard funk which I luv. Taste: silky, nice balance with black cherry, pencil lead, spice and cedar with a long finish...drink em now or over the next 8 years!! — 7 years ago
