Overlooking Nantucket Harbour - couldn’t ask for a better sunset — 6 years ago

With views of the Harbour Bridge and the Opera house out the window, we had to go local tonight. This was immediately decanted and needed it. Wound up to start, it improved steadily in the glass and subsequent pours, delivering spice, red berries and very fine grain tannins through the finish. Very solid. — 8 years ago
Full body, oaky. Great with dinner. Drank on the World in Nanaimo harbour — 9 years ago
1994 vintage. On a sailing boat in Sydney Harbour not with the proper glassware. On the nose, fresh black fruits, gentle spices and leather notes. More savoury than sweet. Not obviously a 20+ year old wine. On the palate, mild alcohol and body, good concentration of flavours and soft but noticeable tannins. Elegance with a touch of umph. Very Hill of Grace. The finish was good, but not quite as long as some other vintages I have recently had. This wine was certainly not fully mature. Could age for another 15 years I suspect. Very good. — 9 years ago
Valentine's Day dinner with my Bahama mama at The Landing; a 200-year-old estate in Harbour Island's downtown. Originally the home of the island's first doctor, the colonial-style building served as Customs House and then a private club. It was built when Harbour Island was a ship building center. With the help of supermodel India Hicks, The Landing has been transformed into a charming 12-room boutique hotel with one of the hottest restaurants in town. — 5 years ago

Business as usual. Which means this is a spectacular wine. Lovely acidity, soft oak tannins, pleasant in every way. — 7 years ago
Now there’s the Harbour Bridge in the background. Bottle #2 and was also immediately decanted though I don’t believe it necessary. There’s definitely terroir here with a spiciness not seen in Cali Cabernet. Pop and pour delicious nonetheless. Day 1 Down Under in the books! Cheers! 🍷 — 8 years ago

Honeysuckle. Chamomile. Very Grand Cru Chablis like. Super light on the palate. It was a little too subtle for me at first, but I’ve come around - this is a pretty great white Burgundy. — 5 years ago
