Aromas evoke pineapple, tangerine, mango, almond blossom and sweet vanillin. Creamy, with a grainy finish. Iron, bamboo, grapefruit, tangerine pith, carnation, apple blossom and oregano. Has the mouthfeel of a beer twice it's price, enough complexity to keep you sipping, and just the right price: half a buck on a very good day! #reefdonkey #tampabaybrewingcompany #apa #pounder #beer #flabeer — 7 years ago
This is Cobra Dawn of the Dank. Last of the four and I hate to admit is the winner over the Dogfish! Poured a hazy DANK amber color into the glass. Nose of citrus and melon, almost kind of smelled like a torqued up Hefeweizen. Great hop structure. Finished really well. Almost as well as a Stone beer. But not quite! LOL, this was still a ridiculously good beer. Great way to start the weekend! — 7 years ago
Great local beer, looks like a bottle of weird German rum (does that even exist ???) but is actually a half strong blonde and very tasty beer with a German name even though it's from Torino — 7 years ago
Wonderfull great beer — 8 years ago
Excellent 200 case production of Jack Bittner. Half ton per acre, elegant wild red berry fruit. Long and silky. — 9 years ago
I forgot how good this IPA was. Had it about 2 Christmas ago in a growler. My brother @notrog gave me a growler of this. It was so good then, it is so good now. And now that its in bombers, it might be my favorite bottled IPA from NYS. The hops shine through on this one nicely. If I'm not mistaken, I smell some Nelson Sauvin hops. Juicy, fresh fruit, its tropical fruit, citrus fruit some tree fruit too. Great malt profile that sweetens up the bitterness from the hops perfectly. Clean dry finish keeps you coming back for more. Balanced. Only down fall, the midpalate might be a bit short or watery. Go find this from @singlecutbeer and enjoy. #beer #craft #craftbeer #craftbeerny #nysbeer #nydrinksny #tasteny #singlecut #astoria #queens #billy #ipa — 9 years ago
This year's Zwanze is a new version of Cuvée de Florian, which is a beer Jean made for his son. It's basically Iris (hoppy lambic) aged on a small amount of cherries -- something like half the amount used in the normal Kriek. — 10 years ago
2008 Pinot Noir Sonoma Coast Bella Vigna Vineyard
Winemaker's Vineyard
Notes: Steeply sloped (think black diamond for all you folks who snow ski), southeasterly facing hillside. Goldridge loam soils. Two-thirds 777 and a third Swan clone. Ton and a half to the acre. Harvested on October 3rd.
Winemaker's Tasting Notes: 100% French Oak, 40% new wood. Punch downs only. Indigenous yeast primary fermentation and natural completion of ML. Unfined, unfiltered. Lighter shade of ruby in color. Big, floral nose of rose petal, dark red fruits, sassafras tea, and soy. Secondary notes of pencil shavings, vanilla, and a touch of bacon fat. Full-bodied, rich flavors of baked berry pie, pomegranate, and baker's chocolate. Finishes super long with flavors of ripe cranberry and bacon fat. 14.5% alcohol. 330 cases produced. — 12 years ago
Looks like grapefruit juice, tastes like an IPA mixed with something else, a really interesting and delicious beer — 7 years ago
On the nose; a bit of a brett bomb to start. Even after 11 years in the bottle, it needed a good 2 hour decant. Stewed fruits of; huckleberry, boysenberries, blueberries, plums, black raspberries, dark & liqueured cherries. Black raspberry cola, figs & dates, black & white pepper, touch of smoke & grilled meats, menthol, used leather, dry stems, dark minerals, loamy dry top soil, right amount of baking spices, lilacs & liquid violets. The body is full, round & lush. Tannins perfectly resolved. They still have a little baby teeth. The structure, length, tension and balance are near perfect. Stewed fruits of; huckleberry, boysenberries, blueberries, plums, black raspberries, dark liqueured cherries & strawberries haunting the palate here and there. Black raspberry cola, figs & dates, black & white pepper, a touch of smoke & grilled meats, menthol, used leather, dry stems, dark minerals, loamy dry top soil, right amount & mix of baking spices, lilacs, liquid violets & red florals. The acidity is perfect and acts like a waterfall over the palate. The fruit floral, lightly spiced finish goes on and on and on. Standish does not have a U.S. importer as his wines are small productions and he has no issues selling nearly all of them down under. You can order from his mailing list but, the shipping costs from Australia are stupid. Look for bottles on the secondary markets. You’ll be glad you did. If you have or had reservations about Australian wine or Shiraz vs. Syrah, Dan’s wines will end those thoughts. We tasted with Dan at his winery in April. He is extremely knowledgeable and a very talented Winemaker. He made Torbreck for years before starting his own winery. Photos of; his Estate, Dan and his low yield vines. His yield was an extremely low half ton per acre on this vintage. — 7 years ago
Best surprise in a long time, had a bottle sent to me from my college roommate half a country away. Very floral, well hopped balanced with a good malt backbone. A balanced beer more IPA than traditional pale ale. Only 10 days old. Would definitely buy if they ever distributed to CO. — 7 years ago
Tasty! Gone Away IPA by Half-Acre Beer Co. — 9 years ago
Pours an opaque black with a half-finger, frothy tan head. Smells of dark roasted malts, matched with the roasty, bitter characteristics of coffee and chocolate, a caramel sweetness, and a lingering tobacco flavor. If you're a fan of stouts, you're a fan of this beer. — 9 years ago
Half acre lead feather: nice...
coffee Carmel and some, but not enough, west coast hops to yang the sweetness — 9 years ago
Goes really well with half a smoked meat sandwich from Mile End Deli, BK. Maybe also half a Hoyt dog... Aiight! — 9 years ago
Crisp fall lager.. Super easy drinking but with lots of character.. — 10 years ago
In my opinion the best hoppy beer anywhere and as close to perfect as hoppy beer gets — 10 years ago
Dark ruby color with brambly mixed black and red fruit and spice aromas. On the palate it's medium-bodied, and focused with creme de mure, black and red currant, black cherry, and spice with a very appealing minerality. Long finish. A field blend of Zinfandel, Petite Sirah, Alicante Bouchet, Grand Noir, Teroldego, Syrah, Black Muscat and Golden Chasselas. From 4.5 acres of wizened, stumplike, dry-farmed, head-trained red vines, which, planted in 1910, produce only half a ton per acre. — 8 years ago
Hard to find but I love it! It's like a dry apple wine with a little sparkle. Only 5.5% alcohol, 130 calories, and 7 grams of sugar. It's nice to sip on when you want a beverage with half the alcohol content of wine without switching to beer. — 9 years ago
I usually don't like fruity beer but this was great. Sort of half cider and half kombucha — 10 years ago
If you like Zombie Dust or Citra hopped beer and you can find this try it. Slightly better than ZD in my opinion. — 10 years ago

The type of star for which this beer gets its name is known for its small size and impressive density, much like the surprising flavours of orange and chamomile that explode out of this tiny can. — 7 years ago
