Watermelon color, super light red. Nose of rose water, salted watermelon, szechuan peppercorn. Drank with Joe and Christian on the patio in the DC house. — 2 years ago
Gut, aber nicht so perfekt im PLV wie der Seeligmacher — 3 years ago
So enjoyable and at a great price point! My favorite with crispy chicken - the bright acidity absorbs the fatty deliciousness and it’s 👌 — 5 years ago
Blind tasting night - Considered Bordeaux Varietals due to the Pyrazines, and I should have gone old world due to the tart fruit on the pallet.. however it was ripe, and I went Margaret River, Australia.. should have went with my gut. But, it was midnight so I'll blame it on fatigue, ha. 🙃
Great wine from a great vintage - fun fact: this estate is the only other estate to be edited into the 1855 Classification a year later, as a 5th growth, literally hand written into the list. — 6 years ago
Another great vintage of a very overlooked Gutedel. Nose is superb. Lots of complex minerality. Herbs and subtle spice. Lanolin and a wonderful windy airiness. So pretty. Reminds me of a lean Jacquere from Savoie. Just killer. Smells like a scene in nature. Standing on a clearing in a forest overlooking a beach with the wind blowing the detritus. What a wonderful smell. Some peach skin if you really are looking for fruit. Chasselas in general has no fruit to speak of. Palate is wonderful. Big time structure and density with intense minerality and sap. Very fresh, very pure, with such a nice core of minerals. Like liquid rocks. Some herbs and some sort of umami flavor. This is so clean and so pure. Long finish. Like way longer than it should be. Easily best Gut&Edel I’ve had from Max. What a wine and what a finish. A true sum of its parts wine.
Acid gets more metal as this airs. Nose becomes more floral and also herbal. Truly wow. Almost a 9.5. So intense and tangy. Some intense high acid grapefruit confectionary goodness! — 2 years ago
A brilliant Gutedel. Nose is smoke, mineral, leather and spice. Peach and melon. After air Huge spice and almost potpourri. So pure. So clean. Wonderfully expressive. Palate is super fresh and clean. Dazzling freshness and so so so drinkable. Wow. Amazing cut and clarity. Great fruit which is unusual for Gutedel. Peaches and apricots and a hint of bitter green fruits. So so well made. A masterpiece dare I say. Terrific acidity and so pure. Sappy. This is so great. — 4 years ago
Looking forward to when these masks come off — 5 years ago
First time trying a Sekt and I’m a big fan. Really crisp with balanced acidity and mineral-driven fruity overtones. White peach, lemon verbena, lemon meringue, and stone fruit. Paired perfectly with Thai for dinner. Served chilled in Riedel Performance flutes. — 5 years ago
Thrillingly fun. Orange tinge on the rosé. — a year ago
Apple, goes down easy. Color: light green — 2 years ago
Großes Kino für feinen Wein mit gut eingebundenen Firnisnoten, noch schöner Säure und Frucht. War auch noch am nächsten Tag gut. — 3 years ago
Omg, this one I really loved! So many rich fruit flavors gets stuck on your tounge, and its light and fresh at the same time. Amazing to serve with seafood. — 4 years ago
Delicious light blend. Lovely texture. — 4 years ago
Nice evolution with ripe apricot and a round mouthfeel, finished with lemony acidity. Drinking very nicely now... — 5 years ago

Late release after prolonged barrel aging.
Waxy, evolved, round with uber ripe lemons & nice exotic note. Creamy & quite broad for Riesling. On the palate this starts creamy and then the racy, steely acidity bites in. Nice breadth & weight. Yet balanced! Not too long though.
Somehow - I’m not that impressed. — 8 months ago
