Another great vintage of a very overlooked Gutedel. Nose is superb. Lots of complex minerality. Herbs and subtle spice. Lanolin and a wonderful windy airiness. So pretty. Reminds me of a lean Jacquere from Savoie. Just killer. Smells like a scene in nature. Standing on a clearing in a forest overlooking a beach with the wind blowing the detritus. What a wonderful smell. Some peach skin if you really are looking for fruit. Chasselas in general has no fruit to speak of. Palate is wonderful. Big time structure and density with intense minerality and sap. Very fresh, very pure, with such a nice core of minerals. Like liquid rocks. Some herbs and some sort of umami flavor. This is so clean and so pure. Long finish. Like way longer than it should be. Easily best Gut&Edel I’ve had from Max. What a wine and what a finish. A true sum of its parts wine.
Acid gets more metal as this airs. Nose becomes more floral and also herbal. Truly wow. Almost a 9.5. So intense and tangy. Some intense high acid grapefruit confectionary goodness! — 3 years ago
They let me have a light box shot! Woot!
Baby Kupfergrube GG here. What a nose. Wow. Just sickness. 9.4 off the bat. Confectionary. Creamy. Peach. Rainer cherries. So clear and refined. Very expansive and airy. Peach fuzz. Barely ripe peach skin and pith. Just a terrific nose. Palate is so elegant and fine. Just as mineral as the Vom Schiefer but it caresses rather than bludgeons. Really classic, refined and again, that gut H intense, refined and complex minerality. Really mouthfilling and a lovely intense mineral roundness. Structured and intense. Very long and finishes super saline and salty. — 4 years ago

limestone, tart cherries, blueberries, blackberries. anise, cedar, violet, rose, menthol. very fresh and fruit forward! — 4 years ago
Wow. Heavenly nose. Gorgeous and starting to show mature notes. Candied, zesty lemon, mineral as all can be. Peach flesh. Apricot flesh. Deep, penetrating and profound aromas. Salty. Rocky. Smells like it sounds. The rock quarry. Wow. Dense, complex, insane inner mouth confectionary aromas, super clean, shows 15 richness but super textured and pure. Nose develops a woodsmoke dustiness. Gorgeous mature notes. So complex. 9.7 nose. Just unreal. Wow, what depth, richness and concentration. So salty and fine. Genius. Really classy wine. Ripe and concentration. A nice steely finish. — 4 years ago
Starts out on the wrong foot. Barnyard and aggressive CO2, but within 20 minutes was singing. Cherries and subtle licorice. Almost a milk chocolate sweetness, but like when chocolate is almost fruity. But not at all bitter. And has the sexy texture im starting to look for almost more than taste in determining quality — 5 years ago
Delicious light blend. Lovely texture. — 5 years ago
So enjoyable and at a great price point! My favorite with crispy chicken - the bright acidity absorbs the fatty deliciousness and it’s 👌 — 6 years ago
Super mineral nose. Wow. Deep and finely etched minerals. No fruit. Salty. Apricot, peach and white cherry. Honey? Complexity. Unbelievable finesse and crazy acidity and superb minerality. Really long finish. Tons of complexity and a GG like character. Inner mouth aromas. Salty and harmonious. Lovely. Stunning. What a value here. Superb baby GG. — 3 years ago

A brilliant Gutedel. Nose is smoke, mineral, leather and spice. Peach and melon. After air Huge spice and almost potpourri. So pure. So clean. Wonderfully expressive. Palate is super fresh and clean. Dazzling freshness and so so so drinkable. Wow. Amazing cut and clarity. Great fruit which is unusual for Gutedel. Peaches and apricots and a hint of bitter green fruits. So so well made. A masterpiece dare I say. Terrific acidity and so pure. Sappy. This is so great. — 5 years ago
Nice evolution with ripe apricot and a round mouthfeel, finished with lemony acidity. Drinking very nicely now... — 6 years ago
