Tasted blind. Light gold color. Exotic nose. Notes of citrus, grapefruit, tangerine, lemongrass, cut green apples and a little pineapple. Goes great with the cheese and snacks we have. I’m immediately in Sancerre world with my guess. Very mineral in it’s mouth feel, lots of acidity. I guess Cotat as the producer. This is a fun wine, and really well made. — 3 years ago

Nose has ripe strawberry, dried orange peel, ripe Clementine orange and tangerine gummy bears (yum).
Palate has tart strawberry, tart raspberry, minor candle wax, dried grapefruit with light tannins.

This wine won best tasting out of 10 different Sauvignon Blancs! Someone commented, “It blew my socks off.” Wairau has an intoxicating aroma of beautiful floral and light citrus notes. Very well balanced wine with medium body. On the palette are white-fleshed fruits, grapefruit, pineapple. Nice acidity. Well done, New Zealand!! — 7 months ago
Tonight the wine of choice is the 2018 Long Meadow Ranch Rutherford Sauvignon Blanc.
On the nose I am getting honeydew melon, mango, white peach, green apple and white flowers.
On the palate there is succulent notes of grapefruit, lime, green apple, minerals and fresh-cut green grass.
This wine is medium bodied with a crisp clean mouthfeel, mouthwatering medium+ acidity that moves nicely into a long citrusy finish. What a wine.. 😁 there's just nothing like unfiltered, unfined, and unhinged Sauvignon Blanc. It's like my love for German Hefeweizen - hazy, but all of the flavor that Bevan would just lose if he wanted a star bright wine.. looks aren't everything. All the main indicators of SB, and much more - lemon grass, grapefruit reduction, unpasteurized clover honey, white peppercorn, vanilla, Meyer lemon, and white pear. Juicy acidity, intense and inviting florals, and fun to look at in the glass. 2016 is a great year for Bevan SB. — 7 years ago
Bright lemon color. Particularly intense grapefruit aromas and flavors with hints of freshly cut grass, asparagus and fresh herbs. Distinct citrus note on the very long finish. Bright, crisp, refreshing and zingy! Wonderfully consistent from vintage to vintage. — 8 months ago
Similar to notes of 31 weeks ago here on Delectable. Very pale lemon in colour for a 6 year old Chardonnay. Sulphidic notes on the nose with Citrus and Grapefruit. In the lean style. Next day still plenty of citric acid. It remains a classy modern Australian Chardonnay but I have had better examples. — 3 years ago
Medium deep pink moving toward reddish orange. Citrus melange aroma... orange, blood orange, sour key lime and pink grapefruit. Powerful weight on the palate but round and creamy in texture. The finish is awesome—long, sweet, savory, lasting almost a minute... with just the slightest hint of funky, cheesy forest-floor. Perfect foil for fresh broiled salmon with grilled broccoli and a Dijon cream sauce. So very glad I kept this wine so long before popping... far from over the hill.. could see enjoying the wine at 25 years. What a wonderful pink wine! — 3 years ago
