Couldn't hold out any longer, I've had this at least 7-10 days now,
Great cork for a 22 year old bottle, juice is great! No brown or bricking of the wine. Someone stored this properly.

Dark ruby red. Black cherry, plum, licorice, and vanilla on the nose with more subtle notes of rose petals and earth. Dense, brooding dark fruit on the palate with balanced acidity and good length. Aged 10 months in 70% new French oak before bottling. — 8 years ago

Softer, rounded black fruits than in July. Blue fruits are starting to show a bit more. Cherry chocolate follows. Soft black earthiness with a touch of soft minerals. Light vanilla presence and medium barrel toast come out on the soft elegant finish. Good acidity is the one lacking element in their 08. I hoped this would be better than the Liparita and it delivered, with grace. Generous, but well-integrated, use of oak that imparts some tasty caramel. The fruit is dark and rich, but savory.
