From a half bottle, the 1992 to reward myself for finally getting the 1/2 bottle drawers up and running in the cellar. While laboring on this, two beautiful organic chickens hit the soup pot on Saturday morning and were reducing into an incredibly rich broth by Sunday night, when I pulled the cork on the ZH to accompany the reduced chicken on a bed of good spaetzle. The wine is really right where I wanted it; beautifully golden with age, shimmering with scents of marmalade and coconut. Yum - ZH was making wines with too much rs for my palate at this time, but time heals all wounds and now the sweetness no longer corrupts the breed of the Brand vineyard. This wine seems like it will go on and on for many more years... — 10 years ago
Tasted in 2 runs: 1st in the morning - no decanting: touch of reduction suggesting tar; compact with dark fruit scents - tight and abundant tannins; well balanced and a firm finish. 2nd in the evening, nose was more appealing with clearer definition. On the palate the dark fruits were still there but alongside notes of wood. Robust, firm all the way long and tight. Brilliant but one to lay down a bit, good potential over the next 7-10 years. — 11 years ago
So odd but incredibly delicious. — 11 years ago

Good outdoor sunshine wine — 13 years ago
Cherry pie nose. Dark cherry, spice and rhubarb. Good balance and acid. I can taste the Santa Maria sunshine when I drink it. Excellent value wine. — 10 years ago
2015 Mornington peninsula Pinot. Made By Patrick Sullivan. "natural", fresh, clean (!) good. 👍🍷 — 10 years ago
Walks that fine line between grounded in earth tones with savory notes in the nose and a richness of fruit that could only come from coastal sonoma sites with plenty of minutes in the sunshine. Thoroughly enjoyed with a little poutine thrown together from some braised beef cheeks, Wisconsin cheddar curds, and good ol russets. — 11 years ago
A smooth and supple wine that I bought as a Future.
Overlooking the Dordogne valley in the heart of Saint-Etienne de Lisse, Chateau Puy-Blanquet has northern and eastern blocks that enjoy the morning sunshine. There are 49.42 acres of planted acreage on soils of clay and chalk. The wines produced in this area are fresh and generous.
Critical Acclaim:
Bright ruby. Aromatic nose features plum, dried flowers, licorice and sweet spices, lifted by a mocha nuance. Lush, broad and sweet, but with good inner-mouth energy to the soft, creamy red fruit, floral and spice flavors. Very easygoing, uncomplicated wine, finishing with fine-grained tannins, decent length and a light touch. I think I could drink a bottle of this on my own.

Good citrus notes, not too overtly gooseberry. Great refreshing acidity - fruit driven, drinking now. Gorgeous. Just add sunshine. — 12 years ago
Good balance between acidity, tannins and fruit. Fields in morning dew, with hints of crush fallen acorns and pepper in the nose. Pepper, blackberries and willow reed flavors. — 12 years ago
First time trying the '15s and it's as great as always. This is definitely a decent amount more brawny and ripe than the '14s but still identifiable as a Lapierre wine. That said, I'm still not the biggest fan of most of these '15's so far, they are too hot and ripe and don't really fit the profile of what I want from most Beaujolais. This is still pretty good on its own merits though. Day 1 it was closed and not giving up very much but on this morning, Day 2, it's come around and opened up quite a bit. Ripe, juicy strawberry and raspberry red fruit, tart rhubarb, wild violet, smoky gravel minerality, with a nice briny, almost gamey salinity underscoring things a bit. Nice medium (+) acid, medium (-) body with a great, soft texture. Just a touch of fine, supple tannic grip. There a bit of brett and VA but they're in balance rather than being a faulty distraction; the VA helps give a little extra lift, if anything. Will try another bottle after some more time has passed because even though it's good now it honestly still needs to come together a bit more; it seemed almost still slightly bottle shocked when I first opened it yesterday. If you're opening one soon I'd recommend giving it a little air to let it unfurl. — 10 years ago
Bright sunshine. Lisa wants to drink this on the porch of our plantation overlooking the Spanish moss covered elms. Lemon, orange peel, stones. Living and vibrant. Great acid/fruit balance. Med+ length. ~chalky texture. Delicious now but good to age. — 10 years ago
good wine .. not bad the next morning — 11 years ago
Not as good as the Sillano. Syrah was hiding in there but very closed with lack of fruit until it finally opened up. Superb by the next morning so highly recommend a long decant. — 11 years ago
Light and sparkly. Great with good friends and good cheese and sunshine. — 11 years ago
Good, but far from my favorite. Hay, stray, grass and herbs with decent drink ability and slightly resinous. — 12 years ago
Corsica comes to the Bay Area, bringing the sunshine with it. Textbook and damned delicious. Wish it wasn't so pricey. A good deterrent I guess. — 12 years ago
This was last night, not this morning. Wine was good but still a bit overwhelming. It has many more years to cellar. Will report back regarding night 2. — 12 years ago
Couldn't let Adessa have all the fun on a Monday night. This is good stuff. I have started to use Yates wine as my cologne in the morning. — 13 years ago
Pleasantly surprised...finished the whole bottle in a night...let's see how good it really is in the morning — 13 years ago

Great Chignin. Fairly light body, ruby color, peppery. I opened it this morning for cooking and am highly tempted to drink before noon. Also good value -- not expensive. — 9 years ago
