This falls squarely into the category of rando bottles in the cellar that just need to be opened and shared. Particularly since I have no history with this label (though I am quite familiar with Goldschmidt’s wine making). Popped and poured. It smells quite fresh and rather inviting for being 14 years young. On the palate, it was very enjoyable and obviously Cabernet Sauvignon with loads of cassis, tobacco and some very distinctive green bell pepper. The tannins have mostly resolved themselves and there’s a really nice texture to this. The finish is long and satisfying. Quite good! But I’m not so sure it’s very a distinctive wine with all that being said. Upon some research, I guess this is the top label from his portfolio of wines and frankly, I think it tastes like it certainly has the care to warrant that title. However, for the price these bottles retail for these days, not a very compelling QPR. — 5 years ago
Dark fruit and tobacco on nose, would swear it’s a cab based on the nose. Soft fruit with a nice tannic backbone. — 5 years ago
A surprisingly nice Cabernet! Relatively light and lots of flavor. Oak and earth flavors with a bit of spice — 7 years ago
bouquet of fur, static, ripe plum, ripe blackberry, wet wood, chocolate pudding, a little smokey. palate gives rich dark chocolate, cedar, cigarbox, burnt marshmellow, blackcurrants, earth, coffee... beautiful smooth tannins- earthy woody chocolate run through and elevated by a refreshingly high level of acidity. — 7 years ago
More structure and tannin than stagecoach. — 3 years ago
12/26 very good, the bottle from Meg’s mystery friend from her girls party. Would not pay 4x Goldschmidt though! — 4 years ago
Deep ruby; medium plus intensity aromas of juicy black fruit and intense perfume, blackberry, mulberry, ripe raspberry, purple and pink flowers; dry, medium acid, medium tannins, medium alcohol, medium body, medium plus intensity flavors of ripe black fruit and perfumed florals; long finish, very well balanced, elegant, outstanding — 5 years ago
Young wine with mild OH on the nose paired with very nice fruit. Plums, prunes, and blackberry on the palate, but lighter than most cabs. Nice finish, and the recommendation was spot on as this wine definitely punches above it's weight at $20+. Curious as to other opinions. — 7 years ago

A smooth and easy drinking Cab with the flavor profile of a much bigger wine. Tannins are velvety, great finish but doesn't require as much chewing as some other Cabs its same age — 8 years ago
