Over 200 varieties in blend, says the label., 6.8% abv, unfiltered. Website says Dungeness is a single orchard blend. A still cider, little head or bubbles on pour. Light golden brown in color, very good clarity. Baked apple aromas, reminded me of an apple pie or cobbler with cinnamon, but that's my brain searching for cinnamon where there is none. Buttery mouthfeel, malic and citric acidity. Dry and really nuanced flavor profile. Tart malic finish and aftertaste with mild bitterness. No apparent seed tannins or astringency. This is what really fine apple wine tastes like, uncarbonated. A surprisingly unique and pleasurable experience, worth trying once, even if it's not a style for you. Kudos, Alpenfire! — 7 years ago
Funky nose, golden apple taste. — 8 years ago
Meyer lemon marmalade, tangerine pastille, canned peaches, golden apple cider, brioche, gingerbread, fresh mint. Age does wonders on this wine. — 8 years ago
Buttered brioche toast on the nose. A rich golden color. Apricot and crisp apple cider on the palate. Really good. — 9 years ago
Perhaps, our favorite non Burgundy white. It is unique among whites.
Also, one of the best afternoons we’ve enjoyed. Appointments at Clos Mogador & Erasmus. Then, lunch looking back at both properties from Amcis. A great meal we would give two Michelin stars. This wine and a custom four course for two for only 70 Euros in 2015. Fantastic restaurant. A must do in Priorat.
The nose reveals; ripe & slightly sour pineapple, lemon chiffon, mix of well extracted stone fruits, notes of lime candy, banana peel, slight burnt brown sugar, blend of chalky minerals, volcanics, chamomile, vanilla bean notes, well cooked toast, sandy dry top soil, fennel (grows everywhere), tree bark with sap, mix of dark & white spice w/ white dominate and a fields of spring flowers.
The body is full & round with good viscosity. slightly sour pineapple, lemon chiffon, mix of well extracted stone fruits, golden apple to cider, tropical melons, kiwi, notes of lime candy, banana peel, fringes of marmalade, slight sugar in the raw, blend of white, chalky minerals, mint, volcanics, crushed dry sandstone, saline, chamomile, vanilla bean notes, well cooked toast, dry herbs, sandy dry top soil, fennel (grows everywhere), tree bark with sap, mix of dark & white spice w/ white dominate and a fields of perfume spring flowers with mixed greens. The acidity is round and rushes like a river. The long, rich, well knitted & balanced, polished & elegant finish goes on & on ending persistently w/ sweet white spice.
The 2017 is different than the earlier vintages we’ve had. It needs another two years in bottle. If you drink now, fully chill and decant 2 hours.

Golden yellow. Cider flavor. Acidic and dry at low temperature. But depending on increase of temperature, getting rich. @1680, tatong - XH, 181121-181222 — 7 years ago
Peachy apple cider vibes, with sprinkles of cardamon and vanilla - all topped off with the lightest dusting of Maldon . Succulent with great acidity. Cute little floaties hanging out in cloudy golden hues. Will last your whole meal start to finish. A refresher on a muggy day. — 8 years ago
Contributing to a day led by Clos de laTech Pinot Noir intros, this 2012 Brunello made their grape varietal brethren proud. This is neither Barolo nor Amarone, as myriad participants cannot approach the Golden State Warriors. Still, this offering has much to be proud of. — 9 years ago
The CH style is slightly oxidative. Golden & green apples, apple cider/sauce, bruised pear, overripe pineapple, citrus (lemon chiffon), nuts w/skin, yellow florals, quince w/custard, vanilla cream soda, English biscuits, near perfect chalkiness, really nice acidity and a long, round, rich apple driven finish, Love 375's. If you like this style, the CH Brut Reserve is a pleasurable QPR. — 9 years ago
I drink so much local cider in the Pacific Northwest, but it’s good to benchmark occasionally versus the Old World standards. More head on the initial pour than cider in the glass; the head looks more like a malt syrup ale than a clean cider. After dampening down, the cider shows moderate carbonation with steady flow of pinpoint bubbles through ultra clear golden brown. Funk and maybe butter, but a dense apple profile on the nose. Frothy but lightly flavored in the mouth, rich, tending semi dry with a frothy finish. Buttery, malic and slightly perfumed aftertaste. Mild pulp astringency and flavor emerges with repeated tasting. Product is 5.5% alc/vol, unfiltered, unpasteurized. Subtly textured mouthfeel overall and lightly flavored, nuanced and totally delightful, unexpected excellence as it tastes so good in characteristics I did not anticipate it would display. It’s just not crafted as most New World ciders are, in all the best ways. Calling it rustic misses most of the positives, at least of this vintage; there’s much more complexity going on here. Great value and a delightful companion on a chilly early fall evening. — 6 years ago
Interesting and different taste. — 7 years ago
The 2017 Figgins Family Wines Riesling is a fantastic bottling from winemaker Chris Figgins. and is truly one of the best of its kind in the state. Showing off a golden hue, this begins with lovely petrol aromatics along with white flowers, honeydew melon and candied pineapple coming through in the glass. On the palate this delivers vibrant minerality backed by flavors of white peach, lemongrass, roasted pineapple and hints of smoky undertones which complete this complex and delicious Riesling. On the nose; macerated lemon & golden apple, just a whiff of apple cider, overripe pineapple, lemon custard, the citrus flesh in marmalade, lime pith with some flesh, sea spray, chalkiness, yeast, yellow lilies, citrus blooms and white spring flowers.
The body is full & rich. Acidity is sharpe & crisp. Macerated lemon & golden apple, just a whiff of apple cider, a little bit of sour green apple, overripe pineapple, lemon custard, the citrus flesh in marmalade, lime pith with some flesh, sea shells, chalkiness, round grey volcanic minerals, yeasty, doughy, bread, yellow lilies, citrus blooms and white spring flowers. The long finish is rich and is excellently executed.

Our friends deck coming along nicely. The kitchen bar & lighting is in.
Tastes really good tonight. Showing more of the right kind of oxidative notes I enjoy.
Golden & green apple, braised pear, overripe pineapple, lemon, lime juice, nougat, some apple cider, vanillin, yeast, bread dough & crust, sea fossils, grey volcanics, limestone, white spice, gentle, powdery chalkiness, micro oxygenation, excellent with spring flowers, yellow flowers & withering white lilies. Excellent acidity. The finish is rush, smartly balanced, elegant and persistent. — 5 years ago
