Schioppettino. Rustic, earthy funkiness. Blackberries, citrus pith, white pepper, brambles. Apparently rare in the US, from Fermented Grapes. — 5 years ago
Mineral lean. Almost thin. But delicious concrete and flint. Last year for this vintage I think — 4 months ago
Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of several days and consistent throughout. The 2022 Sauvignon pours a straw color with medium viscosity. On the nose, the wine is developing and bursting with electricity! Powerful notes of stone fruits, grapefruit, fresh sliced jalapeño, verbena, and minerals. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ acidity. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium+, substantial and refreshing. Lovely with northern Italian soft rind cheese. Drink now. — 5 months ago
Full bodied, oaky, semi-sweet nectar flavor, rich tannins, ashy aftertaste, and delicious, pairs nicely with a chicken or pork protein dish. — 6 months ago
Not as sweet as Averno but not bitter either. Nice over ice or as a substitute for vermouth in a Manhattan — 4 years ago
Just.... like nothing else. Every time. I love this wine. — 5 years ago
Odd mix of rubbery skins that somehow satisfies. — 6 months ago
Skin contact. Choke full of chalky minerality. Intense yet nicely textured palate. A bit astringent on the finish. — 10 months ago
The 2022 Ribolla Gialla wafts from the glass with a vivid blend of crushed green apple, candied lime and mint aromas. This is round and soothing, offset by mineral-tinged orchard fruits. Ginger notes resonate toward the medium-bodied close. This finishes wickedly fresh. $25.00 (Eric Guido, Vinous, May 2024) — a year ago
Burst of acetic acid, great tamed tannins at the end, mulch nose, candied/dried orange peel, brackish water?
Beautiful copper red/orange tint that reminds me of fall. — 5 years ago
