Crisp and fruity. I had it in Barolo grill. — 8 years ago
CVed 1/26/18. Second of three. Strong funk on nose literal barnyard manure but gradually blew off into iron earthy fall leaves with mature cherry notes. Palate balanced and lithe, long finish. Good recovery! Origin unknown. Must be early Gordon's. Note: even overnight the empty glass with a bit of wine still shows that earthy funk but in a poorest way. Terroir indeed! Opened 2/22/18. Wow so not at all prominent funk on the nose! If anything a bit reticent. Cork in perfect shape. Wonder why. Great balance on package and long finish. Perfect pairing with pasta red sauce eggplant. Yum. Upping score by one. — 8 years ago

Great value for the price. One of my fav's overall and it's literally like $10. — 12 years ago
Great wine, need more — 7 years ago
A lot going on but still too young. The tannins are too powerful and intense for me. But there is a lot of dark fruit and complexity present. — 8 years ago
Super Tuscan is right! A great versatile blend that would be right at home with any Italian dish — 9 years ago

The Voerzio Capalot/Brunate 01 (mag) was the third WOTN for me. A perfect Voerzio expression. Hell of a nose and intensity/concentration. Much fresher and more vivid than a 09 I had last weekend. 01 seems to rock here again. Bright red stone fruit, dark roses and flowers, coffee bean, some mocha, tarry irony minerals. You kinda feel the old vines here. Wow. — 8 years ago
Light woody slight acidity. Perfect for apéro !! — 8 years ago
A beautiful bouquet of velveted roses and violets pours out of the glass. Complexly intermingled raspberries and cherries over crushed white pepper and a subtle cedar woodiness.
A bright cherry pallatte if backed by dusty lovely tannin. The racy acidity drives the flavors across the pallatte as they turn darker riper and leave a lovely cocoay feel. Great wine. — 8 years ago

2009 has made a wine that is more accessible now, feel free to open it up but make sure to give it plenty of air. The nose is generous, tar, roses, sappy red fruits and licorice, savory for sure. The palate is a little less generous and firm, but unlike 2010, more enjoyable now.

This is a solid every day red, good with chicken, sausage, pasta, cheese, marinara sauce dishes, and the likes. Nose of raspberry (a lot of it), pepper, allspice, and a sweet floral note I can’t quite put my nostrils on. There’s a slick acidity that keeps your mouth salivating and minimal tannin and very lovely fruit juice. It’s medium to light body makes this quite gulp-able. Solid price point too. — 7 years ago
