— 8 years ago

NYC snow storm wine 2.8.2017. — 8 years ago
Nariz: frambuesa, cereza, mora, algo floral.
Boca: Muy buen balance. Acido M, tanino M, alcohol M+. Rico al paldar. Buen valor. (Mendez) — 8 years ago
I am loving this Verdejo but I'm puzzled about why it is so golden. It's not that old, there appears to be no oak or sugar, and it's not tannic (all would darken wine). Also, everyone who has reviewed it has called it straw colored (normal for Verdejo). I guess I don't care that much though - lemon, grass, grapefruit and tartness countered by silky smooth richness. Love it. — 9 years ago
Really nice blend. Smooth tannin and good blackberry over notes of tobacco and leather. Very peppery and pretty earthy. Would definitely recommend for an everyday wine. Great value as well. Certainly benefits from some decanting. A little raspberry and strawberry after it opened up. Complemented roasted prosciutto-wrapped, goat cheese stuffed figs really well. Not too bad with a steak either! — 10 years ago

Bastante largo.

Sadly this is the last vintage of Quebrada Seca for De Martino as the vineyard will be rented to someone else. Again, this wine over-deliveries. A beauty showing enormous complexity: ripe melons, sea spray, chalk, wood (not oak), lees. Creaminess balanced by a lingering finish led by acid and saltness. — 8 years ago
Nariz: Cereza, frambuesa, mora. La fruta entre madura y seca. Regaliz , otras especies, chocolate, cuero. Bonita nariz.
Boca: Seco, Taninos M+, Acidez M, Alcohol M+.

(Ballester) — 8 years ago
Malt, licorice, and coriander on the nose, creamy round mouthfeel. Malt and licorice dominate the flavor profile, with less coriander than I recall from previous bottles. A bit thin in body. Cigar is an Arturo Fuente Reserva Xtra Viejo Anejo. Fantastic draw with rich leather and deep cognac complexity evident from the aged wrapper. Nice spice on the aftertaste. Cigar is a 9.7. — 9 years ago
Final largo. — 10 years ago

The images aren’t flashy like Krug, Billecart or Ruinart etc. but, if you want a really nice, well priced Blanc de Blanc Champagne, this is for you. At, $24.99, I would challenge anyone to find another Champagne let alone a good one at this price point. As well, an equal Cremant or sparking wine in the same price range. Exceptional QPR here!
The nose is bright and fresh. Crisp green apple, lighter color citrus, overripe pineapple, orange peel and spray, touch of golden apple, touch of bruised pear, ginger notes, vanilla cream soda, caramel notes, spice, hints of baguette crust, honey, darker minerals with chalk, sea spray, fruit blossoms and withering yellow lilies.
The wine brings rich, reductive freshness and substantial acidity to your palate. Crisp green apple, lighter color citrus, overripe pineapple, orange peel and spray, under ripe green melon, touch of golden apple, light bruised pear, ginger notes, vanilla cream soda, caramel notes, marzipan, white spice, hints of baguette crust, honey, darker minerals that press the palate deeply with teeth & heat, nice chalkiness, sea spray, fruit blossoms with withering yellow lilies. The finish is quite nice with richness and goes on and on and on.
