Better than it was just a few months ago, which was right after bottling. Crushed raspberry and steel. Good acidity, low tannin but still substantial. Perfect burger wine! Chicken cordon bleu too! — 3 years ago

Goes really well with sesame chicken and noodles. Would probably go well with many chicken dishes. Light, not tannic/acidic. — 4 years ago

Last one; still very solid to go with fabulous pizzoccheri on a cold winter night. — 6 years ago
Salty, clean, and bright with tons of lemon and some white peach. Like a slightly soured beach sunshine. — 8 years ago
Warming. Great with a fresh pie (rubirosa) — 8 years ago
Great spiced fruit aromas- like a pot of cherries stewing in mulling spices. Good balance. Also carries that pheromone odor that I pick up in many good Italian wines. — 2 years ago
Black fruit, leather and underbrush, well balanced. — 3 years ago
Came across a little flat even after 2.5 hour decant — 4 years ago
The 2016 Barbaresco is fabulous. Rich, ample and inviting, with terrific depth, the 2016 opens up beautifully in the glass. Sweet cherry, licorice, mint, rose petal, spice and new leather flesh out effortlessly. More than anything, though, I admire the wine's persistence and overall balance. The 2016 is the finest Barbaresco I have tasted yet from Francesco Versio. This is such a pretty wine. Compared with previous vintages, the 2016 offers more finesse and a more transparent expression of Nebbiolo than I have seen in the past. (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, November 2019) — 5 years ago
