Another value gem from Columbia Crest. Ruby red, earthy with deep berry. Nice finish. Great value. Had it with flat iron steak. Washington State good again. — 8 years ago

Top Grosses Gewächs (Grand Cru) quality. Bosc pear, ginger root, sea salt. Distinguished and distinctive. Drink now to 2035 or beyond, depending on cellar conditions. — 9 years ago

Top Cream Chardonnay 2014

This vintage shows more oak than in prior vintages. Big, bold, version of California chardonnay. Missing the elegance of last year. Still enjoyable. Just me splitting hairs. — 8 years ago

Rita's Crown Chardonnay 2013

Brewer-Clifton

Sta. Rita Hills Pinot Noir 2013

Aight, but wasn't blown away considering the 2012 version of this wine was in the top 100 for wine spectator! Good fruit, pleasant nose, but just dithers out. — 9 years ago

Domaine de la Chevalerie

Busardières Bourgueil Cabernet Franc 2008

Roel van der Burg
9.1

Structured style, generous in it's dense fruit expression. The Busardières vineyard (soil of calcareous clay on top of tuffeau) is located high up in the hills of the Bourgueil appelation, protected from cold northern wind by a huge forest on top of the hill. Grapes get ripe here a bit easier. Charming expression of Cabernet Franc. — 9 years ago

Top of the Cristom heap. An Oregon classic. This one balances red fruit and earthiness and lingers on. A great wine from a great producer. — 9 years ago

More "Morey" than "SRH". Assertive tannins and lots of whole cluster/stems makes this an intriguing Pinot from California. Recent blind tasting of 8 x 2010 top Pinot noir from all over the world this came out #1 for me. Complete wine. — 10 years ago

The Bunnell Family Cellars

Horse Heaven Hills Syrah 2007

Big dark cherry and plum Jose with ripe Syrah perfume. A little over the top with notes of cherry ludens and mint coming on. Layered, a bit of funk. Reminds me of the one really good SQN I had without quite the same mid palate density and with a shorter, drier finish. Still one of the better Washington State wines I've had. — 8 years ago

I dig the White Hill.

The Ojai Vineyard

Puerta Del Mar Chardonnay 2013

13' Just another can't miss Ojai! Please let it open up in the glass for 30 minutes. I wasn't expecting this much oak on the palate ,for recently visited Ojai chards. White peach, lightly salted buttered popcorn, wet stone, The acidity is beautifully structured through the wine. I don't think it's as balanced as the Solomon Hills 13'(just different) … amazing for a $35 wine. I truly believe this winery ,for the money ,is one of the top 10 in all of California! — 9 years ago

Tightly wound, coiled. Like a top flight white Burgundy. Nose is full of white fruits, pear, Fuji Apple. Bright acidity. Very long finish with lots of minerality. This is a wine that is lovely to drink now but will age for 10 yrs plus. — 10 years ago
