Leaving Puglia tomorrow starting the journey back home (READY, Willing, and Able as economists say). Really needed something somewhat different to eat, and drink. Last night in Lecce, so we went with this Roma-based restaurant, which has been great, despite the no AC thing ....
Decanted this blend of Montepulciano and Nero Buono for 30 minutes or so... More as we drank. I like this ...
I'm tired so I'll just say that the taste is the best part. To me, take a 10-15 Taylor Fladgate subtract the sugar and you get this taste. Oversimplifying of course ....

Incredible depth and complexity. Smoky apricot. Only six bottles distributed in Texas. A family Port from Portugal - only two barrels in existence. A taste of a lifetime. 1855. — 9 years ago
Molasses and orange marmalade on the nose. Just incredible. — 10 years ago
Great stuff — 5 years ago
At almost 4000$ a bottle even a 1/4 of a ounce is amazing. I'm at a lose for words to describe it. It was magic on a dark night. It was a kiss under a street light in the rain it was amazing — 6 years ago
This was a head scratcher. Don’t think I’ve had a wine like this. It wanted to reveal white chocolate and marzipan, but instead it tasted like green tea/chamomile coated almonds. It had some buttered pear and honeyed melon notes on the finish...very unique. — 7 years ago

Very enjoyable. Not too sweet. — 9 years ago

Stunning. Pale red, almost brown in colour but with an amazing freshness despite its age balanced with a pleasingly mild sweetness. — 10 years ago
Feb 2021. Beautiful dried fruit — figs, plums. So smooth and balanced. This is my new favorite LBV Port. — 5 years ago
Very nice Port. Very similar to Taylor Fladgate 20yr — 7 years ago
Beautiful jammy port. Paired with 3 kinds of cheddar and complemented beautifully. Later, paired with chocolatey Pots de Creme. Amazing! — 7 years ago

Very good tawny port. Essentially identical to Taylor Fladgate 10 year at half the cost. — 9 years ago
1963 Fonseca Port. Lunch at Tap during R's wedding weekend. Brought this out once we finished what remained of the previously opened '83 Fladgate. Both were delicious, but we favored this one. Decanted and enjoyed over the course of over an hour. — 10 years ago

My 2nd favorite 20 yr behind Grahams. Ramos Pinto is good as well, but seems to have to bottle to bottle variability issues…. Taylor is a great standby at a good price. — 5 years ago
