Young. Embryo. Zygote. But this will be brilliant. The 16 is more closed at this stage than the 2015. Grapey berry fruit on the nose. Some smoke and mineral. White pepper as well. Palate is lush but firm with strong acids and a firm mineral backbone. It finishes very mineral with fruit fighting the mineral and losing but will win in the end. Bury this deep. — 7 years ago
This 2014 gem was the perfect start to the Mayacama comeback weekend. Ample fruit, acid, length...fighting, fencing, giants, true love! Things can only get better. — 8 years ago
Layered nose of blueberry preserves, rusty nail, spice box, burnt oak, vanilla and clove. In a great place right now, with round, soften tannins and lingering vibrancy. Forest berry fruit on the palate. Medium plus finish. — 9 years ago
Nice acidity and citrus. — 9 years ago
Beautiful plum ruby color with a lighter almost orange rim on it.
The nose is pretty and fragrant. Inky and acetone to start on the nose leads to wild berries with mocha and coffee dusted almonds. The tannins are grippy as hell, fighting you as you swallow. I say the finish drops off too quickly for it to get a higher score, but it has tremendous potential. — 9 years ago

Showing very well still, hitting that spot where the fruit is still fighting off the bottle age notes and an acidity that keeps it feeling fresh. Delicious. — 6 years ago
One of my favourites for the price, and for the memories of fighting fire about the winery in 2015 — 8 years ago
Bright jammy flavors. Great drinkable wine. Definitely recommended — 8 years ago
Spicy and aromatic. Blue and red fruits fighting for dominance with a firm grip and a more subtle herbal/rosemary background note than I expected. — 9 years ago

Dark deep red in color. The smell is a bit boozy and you can easily smell the merlot but if you really focus you smell the cab. There is a nice acidity and a bit of an alcohol taste that meld together with the cab and merlot. The oak is the there but in the background. The finish is quite nice with the merlot and cab fighting for dominance. The body, complexity, and overall taste are amazing for a cheap wine. I recommend buying a lot of this at TJs. — 9 years ago
One of the oldest champagne houses. Lost most of its reputation in the 90s. Good to see they are fighting back because I was pleasantly surprised by this bottle. — 9 years ago
2017 La Staffa Verdicchio with pesto pasta & veggies. Pretty much perfection in dinner right there. This was a little shy on the nose, but is opening up beautifully. This is a nuanced, beautiful wine that I’m fighting a battle not to to drink too quickly as I want to savor & enjoy it. The record finds Damien Jurado delivering some of his finest work. He tells great stories in his songs, but the arrangements are irresistible that accompany his brilliant words. Hope everyone’s Saturday is ending as nicely as ours. — 6 years ago
Deep dark earthy cherry nose. Forest floor and chewy thick black cherry with big big body. Love love love. No wimpy pinot here, all masculine fighting boldness. Gimme more. — 8 years ago
Smells amazing. Tastes better. It's the X-Men of BC Cabs. It's something you didn't think would jump so effortlessly from bottle to tummy. It's inhuman. It's a mutant. It's fighting for truth and drunkenness for those who can't fight for themselves. Wow. Thanks Charlotte. — 8 years ago
It seems everyone in #Burgundy is fighting the premox problem and #MarcelEnte appears to be winning the battle as this marvelous magnum attests--classic fleshy #Meursault with just enough oak influence to give it a seductive complexity that seems to be enhanced by the #magnum bottle format--drinkable now but has loads of aging potential! #closdesambres #2011 — 10 years ago
Vin d’Ottawa
Floral, fragrant, honeyed at it’s deceptive start before a fighting finish. — 6 years ago
