Oh heck. I wish I had more. I don't know Aussie wine but don't think that would make a big diff in how to interpret this oner. It is an individual and a nice one at that.
It is smooth and merlot Berry then POW there are your Gewurtztraminer spices and whoa. Despite my hatred of the color of yellow I can dig it. Yowza. — 10 years ago
2012 Rebel Yell: Not as memorable as the bottle opened last year.
Dates, cold brew coffee, toffee and just enough oxidized character to be interesting, but still past its prime.

One of the best CA Viogniers I have ever had! — 11 years ago
Monastrell aged in Pappy van Winkle barrels. Plenty of oak, with vanilla and caramel with a touch of bourbon corn sweetness. Cherry and dark fruit. Full body, supple tannins, medium minus acidity, medium finish. Delicious! — 12 years ago
Drinking wonderfully at 12 years of age with a nice mix of fruit and tobacco notes. Solid wine for the price. — 9 years ago
Dark inky color with a purplish rim.
Oaky nose with plums, blackberries, wood, vanilla, vanilla, vanilla (did I say vanilla?), earth, spices and black pepper.
Full bodied, smooth and bold with nice legs.
Fruity on the palate with blackberries, figs, cherries, plums, earth, oak, vanilla, dirt and peppercorn.
Nice finish with big tanning and black pepper.
Awesome wine with a great mouth feel, that can be enjoyed by itself. I paired it with Parmesan cheese, crackers and great company. Drinkable now, but will be even better in 3 to 5 years.
A blend of 60% Monastrell, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Syrah. Each was fermented individually, and then aged for 18 months separately, in new French and American oak barrels. After blending, it sat for over a month in steel tanks before bottling.
15.5% (Wow!) Alcohol by volume. — 10 years ago
Superb, balanced acidity with amazing texture and crisp minerality. Pale gold in colour, was intending to share this wine however it was far too good! — 11 years ago
Very tasty with a certain finesse. — 11 years ago
Pleasantly spicy and lots of character. Decant first. — 9 years ago
Crushable. Great summertime wine. — 9 years ago
Wow - an amazingly complex wine. Great quality Barossa Shiraz finished in Scotch Whisky barrels. The whisky barrels certainly change the flavours in the wine. Well worth the money at $25. Can't wait to try the Cab Sav. — 11 years ago
This is amazing. Dense flavors of coffee and chocolate, very velvety Amy Currens said shoo fly pie in a glass. So aromatic and malty. Super long finish — 12 years ago
