Franc Hidden Vineyards Cabernet Franc Malbec

Cab Franc is so underrated. Usually like French ones better but this one is awesome for Ca. Still has that vegetal quality but rounded out with tons of big Cali vibes fruit. Medium tanin. Yum. — 8 years ago

Staten Family Reserve Alexander Valley Petite Sirah 2010

Pretty killer value for $35. Most of their wines suck (IMO anyway), but this is good. Full bodied with dark cherries, olives, and spice. Nose and finish is a little light or would have rated higher — 9 years ago

Staten Family Reserve Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2010

A gift from a client - and a delicious one at that! Stat sheet says 15.7% alc and it sure shows, this is a BIG Alexander valley cab. Pours a dark purple with blackberry compote, vanilla extract, and dried raisin on the nose - almost port-like in essence but with an old-world smoky flair. The palate explodes with sweet black-seeded fruit, vanilla, and a touch of smoky woodsiness that rounds out the mouth. The tannic wall could age for years and probably needs more time, but I'm glad I dove in. Excellent against-the-grain Alexander valley cab. — 11 years ago

Farmers Jane Wine Co.

Field White Santa Barbara County White Bend 2013

A blend I couldn't have made a preconceived notion of (37% Grenache Blanc, 37% Albariño, 26% Verdelho). All parts played beautifully & the co-ferment creates a singular wine of character & finesse, but one which delivers flavor & depth along with great White wines from the corresponding global regions. Stunning. — 11 years ago

Tom Gore Vineyards

Alexander Valley Field Blend 2012

I kept wanting to sing "I dont pop molly I rock Tom Gore". Really interesting blend and enjoyed this, the tempranillo was noticeable and a welcome twist on the classic meritage. Needs a couple more years to meld, but I would buy this if I ever see it. — 9 years ago

Delicious. Sweet on the nose-maple syrup, clove and baking spice. Relaxed tannins yet still present. Taste of root-beer, blueberry....just yummy! A finish that delivers well after your done. Drink now! @Bill Price — 10 years ago

Very good wine. My tastebuds may be a little off tonight but I think it's a bit sweet for a cab not in a bad way. I like it — 11 years ago
