Mint, herbs, fresh pine. #tastesofNOLA17 — 8 years ago
Big black and red fruit tempered by a ton of herbs. Sage, rosemary, eucalyptus, and mint. Bing cherries and fernet? Wonderfully complex wine for a small price tag!! — 8 years ago
Maybe a tad bit medicinal like some fernet — 9 years ago
Move over fernet. — 9 years ago
From the northern banks of the Awatere Valley, Villa Maria crafts a fabulous Pinot Noir from the Taylors Pass Vineyard. An intensely herbaceous, medicinal expression of Marlborough Pinot - it almost reminds me of Fernet, with its pleasant amaro-like flavors - sage, quinine, mint, hibiscus, black sesame, smoke, and damp bark. Captivating and lengthy. — 7 years ago
Trying to describe Amaro in words is hard. This is something between a Nonino and a Fernet Branca. — 8 years ago
With a splash of fizzy water and vanilla — 9 years ago
Full, herbal, ripe and oaky on the nose, obviously still young but more than ready to play. Odors of licorice and Fernet or Chartreuse come through. Thank goodness this has been open since yesterday, it almost certainly needed it. On the palate, bright cassis, wild strawberry and herbal liquor comes through with jasmine and finely structured tannins. Yumyumyum. — 9 years ago
In the glass, it’s hard to resist judgment; it’s just so light. Looks are deceiving. In the nose: rose hips, hibiscus, cherry liqueur. Flavors of pomegranate and rhubarb come first, followed by a heady, herbal bitterness that reads like fernet. I really like this style of Oregon Pinot. — 7 years ago
WAy better than fernet — 8 years ago
Not for everyone...like Fernet Branca wine with herbs and God knows what in there but Monks live off this stuff so can't be all bad. — 9 years ago
Douglas fir, fernet, wet moss, ferns, smoke, spice cake, dark cherry, wet rocks, violets. There's a masculine almost fleshy character with lots of soft and elegant feminine qualities simultaneously. Beautiful tannin structure. — 9 years ago
Spearmint dominates the rooty-herbal nose. Light weight, less viscous than most fernet. Get a big black tea note on the palate. — 9 years ago

Unique fernet expressions—heavily minted/eucalyptus powered which was a fun experience. — 7 years ago
