Eucalyptus, prickly pear and a balsamic toast atop peppermint oil finishes out the pungent microcosm. Tight near-ripe raspberry, tannic cranberry and red clay with basil oil tend to the center. There is cola-cherry-syrup- bourbon root liqueur happening that makes it darken toward the end, almost Coke and Fernet branca, but also a very green, leafy remnant full of iron. The finale is pomegranate, and it is a chewy answer to the pointed questions in the middle. Great vintage, fabulous wine.

A good dinner wine well paired with cheese and a bit of spice in your dish.
