Crimson in color with the slightest bit of orange. Opened up over 3-4 hours, still has room to cellar. Rustic nose: herbal notes, bloodorange, cherry, but not overly aerobatic. On the palate, is more viscous than expected, with red fruit. Tannins are there, but acidity is just as prevalent. Much better when pair with pasta. (My first Nebbiolo from this region, tasted while in Varenna). — 10 years ago

Smoky pear, yellow apples, fresh cut hay on a verdant farm the day after a rain. Lemon croissant with a brush of glazed sugar, lemon zest, chive, and satin petals of azalea outline the perfume. There is a freshness of clean, laundered, sun-dried whites. Medium mouthfeel with distinct white pepper, extra virgin oil, tart apple, lemon essences, peach skin, culminating in a silky dryness, full of tangerine and kumquat piths.
