Really delicious. Even better as it opened up. — 9 years ago
This 2008 was cellared for almost five years after purchased in 2012. Consumed Nov 2015, the best way to describe this delight is that "it melts in your mouth". You do not even feel it as it goes down, the taste begins with its scents as soon as it hits your palate. Delightfully fruity with cherry, blackberry and jam. — 10 years ago
Certainly better than the 2011. Lower alcohol for a CA red. Medium tannins. Not very complex kinda meh on the Livermore Cabs — 10 years ago
Nice fruit with bright acidity, earth, interesting complexity. Still young but drinking well, even better with food. — 11 years ago

Funny story, we ordered the bottle of wine on the line after this bottle on the menu. The waiter brought this bottle as a mistake which we found out was listed as a $485 bottle of wine! We took one sip and knew that it was too good to be true. Come to find out that this is one of the first super tuscan wines ever made. Even though management took the bottle from our table as soon as it was realized, that was the luckiest and most delicious mistake that's ever happened to us. — 9 years ago
By the glass at the winery. Dark fruit, not stewed, plenty of oak spice, even more to the forefront than the 890. A bit more time to integrate. — 10 years ago
Quite the funk bomb. Needed time to open but when it did it became much softer and even balanced. tasted like a classic older Bordeaux. — 11 years ago
Slightly sweet, full flavoured, berry notes, velvety smooth. Goes very well with red meats or even a berry themed dessert. Excellent value for the money. — 11 years ago
Really really good. Fresh, not even a bit of bricking — 12 years ago
Yum! Fantastic now and will be even better in a couple of years! — 12 years ago
Vanilla baking spice and dried cherry with a leather finish on the nose. On the palate hints of dried cherry, dark Mediterranean pepper with a beautiful balance and a slight vanilla finish. Wow!!!!! Wow!!! Wow!!! And then it open to an even more beautiful wine after an hour, if you can make it last that long! — 9 years ago
It was too young and overall very tight even with 5 hours of decanting. I think we opened this at an awkward time in its evolution. — 9 years ago
Perfectly balanced, well integrated, and pairs best with good conversation. Even for an Italian, this Tempranillo gives any Nebbiolo a run for its money. — 11 years ago
Clear deep purple colour with watery rim. Clean medium intensity aroma with minty black cherry and black currant with hint of oak smokiness and vanilla. Dry on the palate full bodied medium alcohol with medium acidity and high but smooth velvety tannin. Flavours of earthy black currant, black cherry, and vanilla. Flavours last through into its long pleasant finish. Very good quality, drink now but can age for another 3 to 5 years for a even more balanced complexity. — 11 years ago
