From 110 year old ungrafted vines. Extremely elegant and soft despite the 15.5 alcohol. Medium body, concentrated black and red fruit, high minerality and salty. Beautiful nose and long burn. Absolutely delicious, Burgundian. — 9 months ago
Bright Sicilian red blend, served with rice noodle-vegetable bowl at Bandaloop in Arundel, ME — 3 years ago
If you find the Nero Davola too heavy, this one is for you. A Sicilian red that has the earthy qualities that Etna provides, but so much lighter than other reds from the region. This has hints of nutmeg and cinnamon. Very light cherry on the finish. Good warm weather trattoria wine. — 4 years ago
Enjoyed this, similar to a good Bourgogne - supple, good acidity and length. — 7 years ago
The color is a pale orange red, kind of coppery. Beautiful. smells like tart fruit - blood orange and strawberry - but also detecting earthiness, maybe rocks, salt. Texture is light but poppy. Tastes like bright fruit, acid, ash and salt. This is special. The hype is real. — 7 years ago

100% Nerello Mascalese. Light garnet (see through) color. Intensely smoky at first sniff that quickly blows off. Additional aromas of red berries, dried rose petals and orange zest. Flavors of strawberry, raspberry, baking spices, fresh herbs and ginger. Noticeable mineral note on the long finish. Crisp acidity, low tannins and medium-minus body. Round and juicy. — 10 months ago
White cherry on the nose, apricot skin, grapefruit pith, lots of minerality and savory notes on the palette, acidic and tannic but we'll balanced - lots of character — 3 years ago
Soft nose, ultra light on the mouth with bursts of fruit and light citrus — 4 years ago
Volcanic organic wine - aromas of green coffee beans, small red fruits, a little funk. Lots of acidity and freshness. — 5 years ago
Probably my favorite “cheap” Italian red. Though tannic, well balanced w dark rich fruit, high acidity, and 14% al. Earthy in a great way. Great nose. Long finish. Nice alone. Or drink w meats and/or robust pasta. $18. (One weird item: there is no vintage year on the bottle). — 7 years ago
Light body and very "Pinot Noir" like. Bright red cherry and strawberry flavors. Mild tannins and light oak. Hint of smoke. Refreshing. Chill it a bit below cellar temp. Great story about the winery. A Mt. Etna lava flow just went around them 30 years ago. — 9 years ago
