The 95 vintage was built for aging. Sauzet Montrachet wine is built for aging. This shows. The wine was perfect -it was alive an vibrant like a young wine. I knew the age but I could not believe it. The nose has a surprising molasses tone with stone fruits in the background. The wine had an incredibly long finish. This wine blew me away- completely!

Stor koncentration av lingon, tranbär och lite rönnbär, rått kött, vått ylle, viol, fuktig källare, läder och grusväg. Allting möter upp i smaken med en intensiv mineralsälta och uppiggande syra. The sommelier described this selection as fruit forward, but I respectfully disagree. I experienced more minerals than anything else, which seems consistent with the fact that this delicate tasting wine is grown directly in the limestone bedrock, with very little soil. Hints of pepper rounded out the flavors. Excellent! Paired well with langoustines and lamb. — 7 years ago
