Earthy nose, silky on the palate, cigarette ash into firm balanced tannins on the finish. Drinks like it had many years of age-ability — 6 years ago
This drinks bold, can be paired with food or without. So damn good. Another bottle please. — 6 years ago
This 2000 #DunnVineyards #NapaValley #HowellMountain sub-appellation drinks wonderfully, though it easily has another 10-15 years of keeping potential. Strong palate of mostly very red strawberries and raspberries and blackcurrants, black cherries. Also whiffs of tobacco, cigar box and leather. This is a #California #Cabernet that stands out by its originality and profile, and certainly tastes better than many of its mainstream "blockbuster" brethren. — 7 years ago
Class in a glass. Very fine and creamy texture. Rich nose, like breathing in a slice of lemon meringue pie. Drinks a bit like a fizzy grand cru burg. — 9 years ago
Roses, cherries, graphite, dried thyme, rose water. Excellent acid/smooth velvet tannin balance, dry herbal finish. Medium bodied yet delicate. Has the structure for long aging. Drinks best in 2020 and beyond. — 9 years ago
Disgorged October '12, this wine exhibits baked, spiced apples, brioche and autolysis with a depth usually reserved for still wine. Yes, color is golden and the wine drinks exceptionally easy now, this can go further and is quite compelling for a vintage known for hot growing conditions. — 9 years ago
Lean, round, rustic, rocky and other worldly. Literally, it drinks like a slightly chubbier Bordeaux. The only problem with this wine is that I shared it with people who were expecting Mindavi Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve style wine. Sigh. I miss you. — 11 years ago
Needs a decanter, but drinks very well with a full body taste. Excellent with a strong main meal. — 6 years ago
A heavy Pino with a lot smoothness, great nose of fruit and jam. Feels like a Cabernet, drinks like a merlot! At times, it almost tastes like whiskey on the palate. A lot of Oak! — 7 years ago
I have suffered through a number of dull uninspiring bottles from this case but thankfully this wasn't one of them. Really delicious perfectly mature claret which drinks beautifully now. — 8 years ago
Maturing well and softer tannins for a cab sav than other Serge Hochar wines. Drinks well now. — 8 years ago
This wine is incredibly good, great price, drinks well with red meat. — 9 years ago
I read on Delectable that this Pinot is a Cab lover's Pinot and she was right. I usually pass on Pinot because a good one is so hard for me to find. But this one is really, really good. I've had the Belle Glos from Meiomi, which I've liked as well, but this is equally as good. Great spice along with the fruit. Found this on sale on Cape Cod for $17 - a bargain for wine that drinks like this. — 9 years ago
Great drinks beautifully — 9 years ago
Great Georgian toast is to your neighbor - he is the most important, especially if you moved into new place.
Here are neighbors from one river banks, but different countries. Sogevinus Fine Wines & Bodegas Emilio Moro - made this opulent, rich and silky wine. Elegant fruit, wrapped into noble oak, great wine -with each sip I can contemplate about toasts wisdom - vostok delo tonkoe.
Maybe missing a bit of length, but I forgive them, the balance is perfect. Don't expect claws, this is tuxedo dress code. — 9 years ago
Needs to breathe a bit at first, but drinks well. Tastes more expensive than it is. Good red! — 11 years ago
March 1, 2018. What a fabulous way to start the month! Top Ten wine if the month from Oct 2017. This Bolgheri Rosso is superb. Very easy to drink, perhaps too easy! Finely balanced dark fruit and earth. Just how I like it. I thought it might be too young but the 2015 drinks really well now. Hope I can get more. — 6 years ago
Val drinks often. Fun label and well rounded, very drinkable mixed well with our holiday, game playing atmosphere. Others were drinking single malt. — 6 years ago
Drinks well throughout. Like Montrose. — 7 years ago
Good, really drinks like a left bank Bordeaux. Loads of tiertary characters coming up but stilll plenty of that pyrrazine cab character. Surprising since 97" was a ripe vintage. — 7 years ago
Dark fruit, hint of cinnamon, some minerals, drinks outstanding — 8 years ago
Ocean spray, crushed sea shell, beautiful minerality, drinks like a Chablis...elegant — 9 years ago
Drinks great right now. Will age beautifully. — 9 years ago
My mom never drinks the wine she gets as gifts, lucky me. Crushed green apple, a wisp of citrus, puff pastry dough and fennel seed. Fantastic stuff, could drink two. — 9 years ago
Enormous for a Pinot, and well remove from its Bourgogne brethren. Drinks nearly like a Syrah. Tons of dark fruit, a bit strawberry. Low acid, not very tannic. Absolutely delicious, but be expecting jam and not delicacy. — 10 years ago
Ben Jones
I actually really like this on a warm summer afternoon. Good fruit, clean minerality... no kidding this stuff drinks almost like Chenin Blanc. — 6 years ago
