Classic smooth drinking burg w/ depth. — 7 years ago
On the nose, black cherries, black tea and orange peels. In the mouth, black cherries, earl grey tea and high acidity. Good mid-palate. Medium-long finish. Very smooth and very modern. Great QPR for a Pinot at this level, however it is not my preferred style. — 7 years ago
Raspberry and spice flavors up front, followed by floral and earl grey tea. Silky, medium-long finish. Solid. Easily has 5 more years. — 8 years ago
Dry. Apples. Stone. Really nice — 6 years ago
Ouvert 1 heure avant. Le vin semble beaucoup trop jeune. On y goute des fruits noirs et on sent un peu les épices. La texture est belle et dense. S’ouvre durant la soirée mais A besoin de temps pour se faire. — 6 years ago
Still time to wait for my 3rd bottle, promising w bright fruit — 7 years ago
CVed 10/11/17. Acker11. White flowers and nuts and blast of acids on nose. Palate of minerals and acids and almonds and hints of surprising fruit sweetness just beneath the tension and long finish. Energy! Mouth puckering acidity. Great food wine. First taste of Altesse. Vieilles Vignes. Need to compare with Brondien. — 8 years ago
Aroma: slightly oxidized, bruised apple, mushroom
Palate: dry, yellow apple, pineapple, nice balance between acidity and overripe apple and pear
Texture: med-full body, med length finish, honeyish — 9 years ago
Wow, powerful aromatics jumping from the glass with dark fruit and florals led by reductive and toasted oak character. The palate is concentrated and complex with juicy black cherry and some real finesse, fine but present tannins finish long. Can’t wait to try again in 4 years! — 6 years ago
Straw. Pear drop, lychee, oily petroleum, white flowers, and earl grey. Moderate alcohol and acidity with phenolic bitterness on the finish. — 6 years ago

2013 vintage at Central Park Voorburg. Medium body, light color. Beautiful raspberry, strawberry nose. Crushed stones, high minerality. Wood already nicely integrated, great balanced acidity. Medium length finish. Very good effort and still affordable grand cru. — 8 years ago
I found this white complicated. I liked it a lot. — 8 years ago
Dr. Owen Bargreen
2007 Chateau de Beaucastel- The 2007 Chateau Beaucastel is deftly walking the tightrope between primary and tertiary tones at the moment. Aromatically profound, the wine immediately unveils layers of black fruits woven together with shades of white truffle crudo, black peppercorns and Earl Grey tea that take shape in the glass. Showing brilliant verve and freshness, the palate has great depth of concentration, power and range. Blackberry compote and black licorice flavors combine with lighter red raspberry, damp earth and Provencale herb accents on this expressive palate. The long finish marvelously accentuates this beautiful wine. Marvelous now at the thirteen year mark, the 2007 Chateau Beaucastel has many years of drinking enjoyment ahead of it.
