Wow - I thought the first release was in 2006. I've never seen the '05.

A noble sacrifice to go with the local gas station beef. And yes Steve. 05 but before any significant distribution deals. A family and friends bottle for those in the know.

Kick Ranch Sauvignon Blanc 2012

Enjoyed this so much over the summer that I had to reload. Along with Dragonette, my favorite Cali Sauv Blanc. — 12 years ago

Duvarita Vineyard Pinot Noir 2013

From a vineyard just west of Santa Rita Hills near Lompoc. The vineyard is almost pure sand. This wine translucent red color, a mineral "kick" and red cherry fruit. Well structured with just the slightest French "funk", it needs a couple of hours decanted or maybe 5 years of age. Another winner from Dragonette. — 10 years ago

Give each some time in the decanter. They could use the air. Hope you like em!

Happy Canyon of Santa Barbara Sauvignon Blanc 2010

This wine thinks it is a dairy product - much more oak than we usually like (but that is why we tried the "long aged" - to try something different). Beautifully executed. — 11 years ago

Happy Canyon of Santa Barbara Rosé Blend 2013

Hot night in San Diego and this was great liquid refreshment. Peachy in color and character, good accompaniment to relive TdF videos from last month with a little Brie and Pan. Vive le Tour! — 10 years ago

Hilliard Bruce Vineyard Pinot Noir 2009

Nice Sta Rita Hills Pinot. Solid effort and drinking well right now. Mrs A claimed this bottle early on and was generous in allowing me a few sips over three nights. She would have rated it about three points higher. — 11 years ago

Question Steve - making our first trip to central coast in a month. Going to Hilliard bruce, foxen, and maybe brewer clifton. Anything you recommend as a must hit? Potentially anything nice and intimate? Ampelos or Paul Lato? Thanks in advance!

Greg - HB and Foxen are good choices. Love Paul Lato's wines but he doesn't have a tasting room and rarely accepts appointments. Will reach out to Matt for your email address and try to put some thoughts together in the next few days. Cheers!

Stellar bottle. Perfume with ripe pear and honey. Great, bright acidity. Almost a little peppery. Super complex. Reminds me of a Dragonette SB from Happy Canyon. — 12 years ago
