Founded in 1932 by Isaac Muga Martínez, on his death children Manuel, Isabel and Isaac Muga Caño took over. Dark Ruby with aromas of ripe fruit, smoke & spice, A blend of Tempranillo, Garnacha, Mazuelo, & Graciano from this top Haro producer. On the palate, ripe fruit, cherry & blackberry, firm dry tannins, & smoky oak. Aged 30 mos in French & American oak + 18 months in the bottle before release. On the finish a touch of vanilla with a lingering ending. Will continue to improve! Nice! Small production. — 7 years ago

50 % merlot, 50 % cabernet sauvignon. This 2015 Pessac-Léognan might well be the finest value in the whole of Bordeaux. Fresh dark berries intertwined with the typical subtle Pessac-Léognan spiciness. Perfectly balanced, this wine seduces with its purity of fruit and fine-grained tannins. It is profound and very elegant, concentrated but not over-extracted, with perfectly integrated oak and a long deliciously spicy finish. At less than 25 euro this is a steal. — 6 years ago

Organic earth dominates with mushrooms, wet leaves, and "sweet manure." Complimented with pomegranate, cranberry, savory spices, and black tea. ❤️ — 9 years ago
2007 was too tart last year, but perfect tonight after 2-3 hrs of air. Easy drinking with great minerality. — 9 years ago
Founded in 1932 by Isaac Muga Martínez, now run by children Manuel, Isabel & Isaac Muga Caño. Deep Ruby, aromas of sweet red and black fruits with pepper spice, unmistakable Muga. 4 grape blend from the Haro district (70% Tempranillo, rest Garnacha, Mazuelo & Graciano), palate shows cherry and currant flavors with espresso, vanilla & toasty oak tones. Soft full tannins, lively acidity on a medium+ finish ending with an earthy mineral character. Nice value! Great vintage! — 5 years ago

Floral and herbaceous nose at first with red and citrus fruit, the second day shows some pretty mushroom qualities. Great Chambolle Musigny value at $45 — 9 years ago

He’s not picking early, yet the wine is well balanced and fresh. Expressive. Plenty of fruit. Expanding brambly strawberries and underbrush. Firm tannins. Luminoso! — 3 years ago
