One of my favorite dinners was on the menu here at Chez Skip - cassoulet! And my knowledge of wine pairing is as sophisticated as a toddler eating spaghetti, I said to myself - hey I am eating French food and I like this French wine, so hey why not? And that was that. But as wine can be, it evoked its memory of when I had it first. I remember sitting out in the patio and being impressed with it. I thought to myself I could really enjoy French wines, but as history has shown, that was clearly a short lived notion.
Knowing it had been some time, I had an odd feeling, so I checked my Delectable history. Indeed, this was the very first wine I had rated!
So, to my friends, do you remember your first wine on here? Was it anything memorable? @philip Angino @Martin A. Wow. What a treat this was. This is a very rare and special gewurztraminer made by Manfred for his good friend @Roman Sukley with a personally inscribed note from Manfred for Roman to share it with friends and family.
This wine is the nectar of the gods. Amazing — 9 years ago
Never know what you might find. It may have been a little past prime but it's a crowd pleasure and nudge me to order some young. @Bill Bender and @Roman Sukley too like them young. — 9 years ago
Very tasty 2012 vintage — 10 years ago
Good sweetness. Granny Smith in the blend bringing some acid. Still fairly structured. — 10 years ago
How many of you every noticed the hologram on the Bond label? Look down the bottle and the latter "B" is as clear as day. Pretty nifty. @V M @Jason Heller @Scott E @Ira Shapiro @Mike Smith @Steve Swaney @Bill Bender @Roman Sukley — 10 years ago

So I believe this Sunshine Vineyard is from the Wappo Hill portion of the Hartwell Estate......sorry now this portion belongs to the Realm Cellars estate. (Moonracer) Highly recommend checking out if you find it @Carl Fischer @Shay Aldriedge @Ron R @Martin G Rivard @David L @Isaac Pirolo @Roman Sukley @Paul T
Medium to deep garnet red with bricking on the edges. Stinky and savory on the nose straight from the get go. Opened up over the next half hour or so with stoney notes, a touch smoky and soft red cherries. Well integrated and smooth, moderate tannins (6/10). Beautiful aged characteristics on the palate with notes of dusty black cherries, a touch of chalk and dust, mushrooms, truffles, and also gains some aged red cherries. Medium plus body with a super long finish. This bottle has aged very well. Drink now if you like power in your Cabernet but this will keep for few more years. Drink till 2020. — 8 years ago
Jan1, 2017! Happy New Year! Tucson. W/ Jim, Adrienne and Roman. Full bodied, deep purple color — 8 years ago
A nice earthy red. Hit the spot with a Roman cacio e pepe pasta and rosemary lamb. — 9 years ago
My first shot at the Realm white and it delivered huge. Astounding aromatics of sassafras (yes! @Roman Sukley) and rain soaked vegetation. Melon rind, stream bed and a lively verve. I may be crazy but I get a Haut Brion blanc vibe here. Outstanding with fresh oysters and good company. — 9 years ago
Spectacular and the UPS guy was not even in the driveway @Roman Sukley
Tannins were supple and the alcohol tame. — 10 years ago
This dog will hunt. Not for sale @Bill Bender @Roman Sukley So blessed to have great friends. — 10 years ago
One of my favorites. Lots of richness and complexity but it doesn't lose the lightness and minerality that I love from this area. El pecado=the sin, roman slaves who worked this vineyard called it hell bc it was so steep, this is Raùl's homage to them. 2011 vintage — 10 years ago
More rosé, nice and light for some day drinking on the river! — 11 years ago
Roman white wine — 12 years ago
Great with our New Years dinner! — 12 years ago
Ahh, reminds me of Fridays back in Chicago @Roman Sukley always started with a white as we got organized. Often with one of these. Lemon, slightly tart, honey, and ends with a hint of earth. Grabbed at a local liquor store, I'll have to go back and grab a couple more bottles. Not a whole lot of choices here in Casper. WY. 2014. 14.5 ABV. With sockeye salmon on TJ's Lemon Pepper Papperdella on Valentine's Day — 8 years ago
Outstanding! — 8 years ago

My absolute favorite for light, fruited, red wine for casual drinking. — 9 years ago
I had not visited this wine in several year but took the opportunity to do so today. Boy was that a great call. While the nose was tame the flavors are of dark cooked fruits and the tannins, sweet. The alcohol serves as a prefect envelop to deliver the complex layers of this voluptuous sexy wine which can hold your attention for a 30 finish which might be beyond the attention span of @Bill Bender but well within @Roman Sukley wheelhouse. This is just a great effort by #JeffSmith and winemaker @Robert Foley — 9 years ago
