This, to me, is the quintessential crowd pleasing wine. It hits all the notes one would want for serving wine to a crowd:
- it appeals to the masses insofar as it has a touch of residual sugar, but in a pleasant manner
- it has sufficient complexity to appeal to the novice wine nerd
- it ain't expensive.
I've had three different cuvées from Sebastiani, all under $30 and I've enjoyed all three very much! Well done @Sebastiani Vineyards — 9 years ago

Better then most Napa Cabs that cost 150. Stunning wine. Would please a novice or expert. The balance of rich fruit, biting tannin, soft acid. Yum. — 9 years ago
This was a nice easy drinking wine. In mixed company it faired well pleasing the oenophilia and the novice alike. Sportin' tobacco liner, lightly toasted oak, black cherry pits and a smooth mouthfeel. It also showed elegant tannins on the finish. — 10 years ago
Bigger than most Pinots. Consumed part of a novice vertical. All enjoyable but the 2012 wasn't quite as big as the 2013. Leathery rich with hints of berry. — 10 years ago
My MOST FAVORITE regular night wine of all time, I think? Just a little funky, super fruity, SO drinkable. — 10 years ago
Very easy wine to drink and good for a novice wine drinker. Nice blend and a good price point. Recommend for gatherings from seasoned to early wine drinkers. — 11 years ago
From a novice, trying it for the first time at a wine tasting event...I enjoyed it very much. Not very educated in wines at this point, I would describe it as smooth, medium body, more flowery than fruity with a melon taste versus citrus. I would keep a bottle handy at home. — 11 years ago
Very much enjoyed this Honig sauv 🐝 Fruit forward but mellow with, (from a novice nose), aromas of maybe melon, mango, and also delicate minerals with a little oak. One of my favorite wines on my explorations thus far. — 11 years ago
88 Dark purple. Powerful aromas of dark berry preserves and licorice, with a smoky overtone. Lush and expansive, offering hefty black and blue fruit flavors. This seamless cabernet packs a lot of fruit for the money and finishes with good energy and cling. May 2012, "Cabernet Sauvignon" Cabernet Sauvignon 2010 88 BEST BUY! Novice palette and whatnot but def got some citrus flowers here. Bottom line... dope. — 9 years ago

Wow, what a great find! Actually have to say, possibly, one of the best wines I've had....in my 3 years of discovery as a wine novice, I definitely will buy this again :) — 9 years ago
Pretty good to a novice port drinker. — 10 years ago
This is my go to white blend when I want something on the sweeter side. It's refreshing and perfect to sip on its own. Pair with something spicy or salty. It's smooth with honey and vanilla notes. Good starter wine for a novice. — 10 years ago
Big bodied Shiraz, drank right at its peak. Very concentrated grapes must indicate a warm growth season. Translated into massive flavor with very smooth tannins and nice full finish. Obvious fruit notes, but peppery. Excellent steak wine, deep purple coloring, defined legs, good bouquet, big finisher. Balanced all the way through. Great for both the experienced drinker and obvious enough for the novice. Not a first wine in a tasting series. — 11 years ago
I don't normally drink desert wine, but when I do....
Kidding aside this is killer, acidity , freshness tannin, it offers a great experience for the wine aficionado and the novice.
Black cherry, cassis. As huge as it is it is just as fresh. Full bodied , fresh acidity and ripe tannins. 13.5 abv!

Bright and tasty. A crisp and easy introduction to lesser-known noble grapes for novice winos. — 12 years ago
Wine #3 of the night was amazing. A recommendation from my local wine shop contact, this elegant red exhibits France's dominance in red wines. So smooth, balanced ... It's flavor caresses your taste buds. To be honest, I am a total novice to the bottle. Cheers! — 13 years ago
This dusty old dame was opened on a lark and was the Belle of the Ball. Fruit, velvet finish with grip on the end. A really fine and easy wine. Easily in my top 10 for the year so far. It has all of the complexity to satisfy the snobbiest wine critic and the simplicity to make a novice want to become an snob. — 9 years ago
Ok... Snowden... first, as you will notice, this is my second bottle of the evening. So, maybe I'm being paranoid, but before opening... I changed my WiFi password.
So the bouquet is riddled with spoiled milk. I am a novice so someone please explain myself. But that's the nose.
Tasting, I get a nice round (I know I use that a lot) mouthful of Cedar. Tannins are perfect. Damn good! Traitor!

Ok my first log in I admit I'm a Novice. Had a glass so dont know what year but this was fabulous. Nice and dry, very smooth. — 10 years ago
Very approachable wine for novice wine drinking. Light and refreshing. — 10 years ago
For the price point........this is a home run. Novice and beginning wine drinkers will love!!! Just sweet enough with a hint of honey mango on the palate. Not so sweet to be considered a dessert wine. Refreshing on a Summer's Day. — 10 years ago
Made the mistake (I'm a novice) of decanting this wine. No need. Nice and full bodied with red fruit and oak, which a wonderful combo in my opinion. Want to try this one again, sans decant. — 11 years ago
I really thought this had a fantastic, peppery finish. Not too in your face, but enough to probably make a novice notice. — 12 years ago
L.A. Warren
Tonight I wanted to enjoy something a bit different than my trusty Cab. I had seen this bottle in the French quarter of the store for a very reasonable price so I brought it home.
For a novice like myself this is a very approachable wine. I have found that the more it's allowed to breathe the better it gets.
It's light, easy to enjoy, and would go beautifully with many a dish. Don't let the price fool you. This is a very good wine.
Overall, a delightful taste of France. — 8 years ago
