Classic Chablis, delicious — 5 months ago
Popped and poured into a decanter 30 minutes prior. Served double-blind. In the glass, the wine appears a deep garnet with some light staining and what appears to be some slight sediment. Medium+ viscosity. One the nose, a fascinating mix of spiced apple sauce, Fig Newtons, cherries, bruised strawberry, red plum, pink peppercorn, rosemary, baking spices, and pool raft (yes, that’s what you read)…and maaaaybe just a touch of the mouse which could be a clue as to where this might be from. On the palate, the wine is dry, medium tannin, medium++ acid, and alcohol medium+. This wine is complex with a long finish. Frankly, this is incredibly quaffable and ever so pretty! While I think could last longer, the low addition of sulfur has me thinking it’s best to drink these in the next few years. After all, they are delicious right now. — 9 months ago

Always bloody delicious! 👌🏽👌🏽 — 4 months ago
Yellowish with pale green. Slight herb and citrus aroma. Oak, honey, lemon +. Quite rich but quite acidic. Fresh and potential to show elegancy. CHABLIS 1ER CRU MONTEE DE TONNERRE LOUIS MICHEL & FILS 20 @7700, Enoteca, 231229 — 4 months ago
Tightly wound nose, lots of beeswax, white florals and some stone fruit, rounded by oak. Palate in unfortunately alcohol-first (I guessed 14.5 but it’s 15!) but layers of texture. Good bit hot, more pedigree than magic — 5 months ago
2017 enjoyed 10/7/2023. nose: caramelized pineapple, wavering between oxidative and candied. wiffs of fresh floral pass quickly, stony/mineral undertone. palate: medium body, oily viscosity, high acid and mineral leave my tongue tingling. gorgeous. glad that I opened. — 7 months ago

The 2019 Chablis Les Clos Grand Cru has an effervescent bouquet with orange zest and almond scents. Seaspray touches come through with aeration. The palate is well balanced with a pleasant sour lemon twist on the entry, relatively fresh and tensile with a brisk, quite peppery, lemony finish that lingers in the mouth. Superb. Tasted blind at the annual Burgfest tasting. (Neal Martin, Vinous, December 2023)

Red fruit, black licorice, earth and mushroom. — 6 months ago
1 hour decant(little fine/cloudy sediment). A breathtaking dark magenta color. On the nose: jumping from the glass are stewed cherries/plum, herbaceous, licorice, roasted meat, earth, touch of menthol. Taste: elegant, juicy, velvety wine with dark cherry, pepper, chocolate, cedar, and a anise/tobacco medium plus finish. From the Sonoma side of the Mayacamas mtns. Purchased on a recent visit...beautiful indoor/outdoor tasting room featuring their small production wines. If you want to throw down some serious change they offer a terrific multi course food and wine pairing in the underground cellar. — 8 months ago
This was our second bottle. First was uninspiring and despite the 97pt RP rating, found it to be disappointing. The trick is to let it breathe for at least an hour to let the flavors develop. It is no Opus One but very satisfying with a juicy steak or just plain enjoyment! — 7 years ago
Delightful lychee on the nose. Such a great balance of aromatics, minerality and acidity. — 10 years ago
