Delicious Sauternes — 2 months ago
Lemon color and has a clean smell of lemon and apple. Very balanced taste of pone fruits and citrus just like the smell. Enjoyable, strong body and finish. — 3 months ago
Smells amazing, tastes great, takes me back for some reason. — 4 months ago
First, the oak, then the acid, then the long full finish. A bigger wine than expected, which will go with a range of food. A $35 bargain at Costco — 6 months ago

1998 vintage. This estate was acquired in 1972 by former Château Yquem régisseur Pierre Meslier ( who passed away in 2023 at the age of 93). He managed to restore the wines to their former glory, and his 3 children seem to continue on the same path. This 1998 features a brilliant, golden colour, and a nose that immediately shows off the typical roasted botrytis aromas that characterise great Sauternes, intertwined with honey, beewax, maple syrup, lemon confit and flowers. In the mouth, it is succulent and profound, wonderfully achieving that delicate balance between sugar and acidity that makes Sauternes potentially great. Layers of dried and fresh fruit, rich and refreshing at the same time, culminating in a very long finish with a lovely almondy impression. Excellent. Abv. 13,5%. — 2 months ago
Quite a deep old gold, light honey colour slightly hazy. Intact and interesting on the nose , lanolin and candle wax , touches of roast almonds and bruised apple. On the palate quite intense and with lemon pith , orange peel , bruised apple and candle wax . There is a lightly sherried character noticeable after a short while that gets more noticeable with time . Good acidity and weight , creamy mouthfeel . Quite reasonable length. This obviously should be drunk now (probably should have been drunk a decade ago too) won’t improve and only will become more sherried with more time . Commendable and a nice surprise but drink quickly once open ! This bottle just one of the weird but wonderful choices available from T Wright Wines in Bolton (uk) , a real gem of a shop that I throughly recommend. — 4 months ago

This is the 2009 Chateau de Chantegrive. Graves, Podensac. A blend of 50% Merlot and 50% Cabernet Sauvignon.
On the nose is black cherry, blackberry, blueberry, black plum, black currant, licorice, oak, smoke, iron, granite and dark rich earth.
On the palate there is black cherry, blackberry, blueberry, blaxk currant, green bell pepper, minerality and earth.
This wine is full bodied with a velvety smooth mouthfeel medium + acidity and medium+ smooth rounded plush tannins that takes you to a long black fruit mineral finish. Enjoy the weekend with family and friends and enjoy some beautiful wine together. Please stay safe and healthy. Nostrovia! 🍷🍷🍷🍷 — 8 months ago
Good old fashioned honey water. — 8 years ago
Orange peel marmalade, apricot, spices?, tropical fruits (notably pineapple). Honey with subtle (Brazilian nut) nutty quality. Very faint hint of cheese. Rich, fairly complex, and lasting. Just lovely. — 2 months ago

Lean, a bit of grip. Really good with dry aged rib eye. — 8 months ago
Amber dark gold color. Thick and heavy in the glass. Notes of vanilla, brown sugar, and some creme brûlée. Rich and big in the mouth. Light acidity builds and with air this rounds out to a nicely enjoyable finisher for the evening. BDay dinner 12/12. — 6 years ago
