Complex baked fruit and scorched earth, animal hide. At this age the '08 is more Cornas than Côte de Nuits. — 10 years ago
Rocky Patel 15th Anniversary Maduro. Robusto size. Wrapper is milk chocolate in color, a few veins running through the leaves. Box-pressed for an outstanding tight pack. Smell is leather, black pepper and chocolate. Nice draw, lots of thick smoke produced. Flavor is elephant hide, dry hay, dark chocolate, and espresso beans. Full flavored. Really nice complexity and overall a highly enjoyable smoke. — 10 years ago
Fine acidity coming from the early harvest and tannic notes that issue from the long skin-contact might hide a mineral aspect of this wine. However this rich chenin blanc made from unique vilification gave me a big pleasure and curiosity to the wine making in South Africa. — 10 years ago
A beautifully layered bold Syrah. Blackberry, black cherry, smoked meats and leather on the nose. The tannins are balanced with a decent amount of dryness that leaves your mouth watering. Hints of licorice and dark red fruits on the pallet. A nice long finish with some soft earthiness that doesn't hide the black fruit. A great wine on its on and it holds up against spicy food or a salad with a great vinaigrette. My better half picked a winner, as usual. — 10 years ago

My first thoughts were new world but as the wine sat in my glass I began to think old world but a producer with new world tendencies. Aromas and flavors of orchid and tropical fruit with French oak playing hide and seek. This wine is walking a tight rope of either blossoming into something really good or falling apart. Have a few bottles so I will be able to evaluate the evolution. — 11 years ago
Delicious. Medium bodied and fragrant. Pepper and hints of coffee only temporarily hide the slightly unripened blackberries and currants on the nose. On the palate it is fruit forward (blackberry and some raspberry) and beautifully balanced. Not too heavy on the tannins. It has a tart/short+ finish that makes you want the next sip. Go buy a case and impress your friends. Highly recommended! — 11 years ago
Have to hide it from my girl If I want any best rose we have had this year — 11 years ago
One of our Paris reds, drunk at Le Hide if memory serves. Delicious! — 9 years ago
Simply an awesome bottle. Bright, screaming with youthfulness, perfectly balanced with great structure and just the right amount of everything. Bernard Gros is one of my absolute favorite producers and this bottle is a solid proof why. Cellar or drink now and try not to hide the biggest grin you'll get with the first sip. — 9 years ago
My first wine from the Galilee appellation in Israel. It’s a mountainous, stony terrain, but for all the stress I imagine vines go through in this formidable environment, Galil Mountain’s 2012 Bordeaux-style blend is stunningly pure, with almost pillowy-plush aromas of black currants, blackberries, violets, spice box and anise. Aged 16 months in French oak, the tannins are ultra-fine and evenly distributed. Elegant and nuanced on the palate, the only detractor is an ever so slightly hot finish. It doesn’t quite hide its 15.5% ABV Sample — 10 years ago
Light bright fruit with perfect peppery undertone. Will not cover nor hide beneath a strong meaty pasta dish. Lovely statement of this wine. — 10 years ago
Listen......Malbec , for all its gratuitous idiosyncratic ways, should celebrate its pleasurable simplicities. Why hide the fact that you have a hot body and make young men weak in the knees?! Valle Escondido. One of the hidden treasures of Mendoza. One of the highest elevated vineyards in the DO. This is a friggin steal!! $9.99 are you outaa your mind?! Yes.......You're welcome — 10 years ago
The lean 2011 from z block in bien naciedo is awesome and shows the micro climate well. Blueberries hide a restrained power of cocoa cola scorched earth. Just amazing what Paul created. — 10 years ago
Had the 2005 at Emirates business class lounge in DXB this year (2015) couldn't believe they had a 10 year old Bordeaux wine. I drank 2 bottles then they had to hide it and brought out another second label 2009 Bordeaux — 11 years ago
Great out of a burg stem. Would be nice to hide a few for a couple years... — 11 years ago
This is why I put wines away and hide them in the cellar. — 11 years ago
Dark fruit, hide, black pepper. Goes forever. — 12 years ago
2014. Going to be very good in 5-7 years. Tight now, but shows good fruit and solid structure. Tannins are there and hide some elegance. This should develop nicely. — 9 years ago
Delicious Bordeaux blend that doesn't hide where it's from. Delicate and beautiful at the start then turns into a party with character in the end. Great with meat and dark chocolate. — 10 years ago
Very good Bordeaux love this wine first
Introduced to it by Doug of Harrison My son's Seb and Mat seem to like it too...will have to hide the next few bottles I get,,, Expensive but good. Very G
good compliment to double rib of beef Hard to get hold of ..mores the pitty — 10 years ago
Tasty. Slightly sweet but not enough to hide it's complexity. For a $20 beer though.....hmmm. Curious if it would develop in bottle. They call out vintages for each. — 10 years ago
Unexpected star of the night. A little dense, but really alive. I wanted to hide this one from the party and drink it myself. — 10 years ago
Really loving this. Tasted next to a Broc's Chenin offering. This has more depth and sophistication. Going to have to hide a couple of these in the back of the cellar to get some age. — 11 years ago
Amazing. So complex and fun. I think food would only hide whats inside this wine. Crazy good. — 12 years ago
Edmond Bordelon
Winner of the night!! Hands down!! Had it an hour in the decanter (should go longer), and it just opened up nicely, as you can tell by the empty glass. Phillipe Melka is at his best with Brand. I need to hide the rest of these from myself for another 6 years. Balanced, beautiful color and a great finish. — 9 years ago
