Bright white Burgundy (Chardonnay) served with scallops at The Banks Seafood restaurant, Back Bay, Boston — a year ago
Tasted blind. Dark reddish tawny, almost opaque. "Wild ass nose" my notes say. Notes of red fruit, plums, spice, moist earth, a little mocha and some old leather. Lively fruit matched with a nice structure. I'm in old Bordeaux land with my guess of 61 Mouton. Table talk points out how ultra rare this bottle is, with those in the know viewing it as one of the best CA cabs ever made. Hard for me to argue that as it sits next to the 74 Heitz MV and goes toe to toe with it all night. — 3 years ago

Lemon, oak, white peach, high acid, medium alcohol, and long finish. — 3 years ago
Regal, powerful, rich, layered with minerality, 2019 Perrieres is fantastic, gaining weight and precision in the decanter and unfurling beautifully over the course of dinner. It’s laser focused, with both richness and clarity and the palate has such an elegant texture. Really lovely bottle. — 3 years ago

A night of finishing coravined 07’s.
A purchase on the secondary market about 8 plus months ago. Its storage not what mine would show at this point. It’s farther advanced from what it should be at this stage, but still enjoyable. Showing some liqueur notes.
I feel similarly about this producers Napa Cabernets as I do Joseph Phelps. There’s differences and I lean into Phelps Napa over most of the Heitz Napa’s.
The nose shows baked & slightly stewed fruits of; blackberries, black raspberries, dark slightly liqueured cherries, both plums stewed, cherries, raspberries, tree bark with sap, mid berry cola, delicate baking spices-nutmeg, clove, cinnamon, vanillin, spices, anise to black licorice, black tea, fresh & old tobacco, sweet tarriness, withering & just slightly, candied flowers that are dark at the core, red, withering red roses with violets.

The palate is ripe, a touch lush & ruby; blackberries, black raspberries, dark slightly liqueured cherries, both plums, cherries & raspberries. Tree bark with sap, mid berry cola, delicate baking spices-nutmeg, clove, cinnamon, vanillin, caramel, malt balls, menthol, dark spices with some palate heat, anise to black licorice, expresso, milk chocolate w/ toffee bit’s, black tea, fresh & old tobacco, sweet tarriness, sweet forest floor w/ dry leaves, withering & just slightly, candied flowers that are dark at the core, red, withering red roses with violets, excellent acidity, well balanced/crafted, nicely tensioned & elegance/polish for days with a finish that lasts 90 seconds and lands evenly on earthiness & spice. — 10 months ago
Feminine, refined and clean on the nose and palate. Strawberries, floral notes, pomegranate, Pommard spice on the nose. Wonderful minerality on the palate. Lacks s little bit of structure but otherwise beautiful wine. — 3 years ago

Slight oak with fresh acidic aroma. Stimulated. Lemonade direction. Rich and honey as temperature is rising. Domaine Heitz-Lochardet Bourgogne Chardonnay 2020 @1080, domaine -, 210821-211106 — 5 years ago
Slightly muted nose at first but with some dark fruit and violets. But what a gorgeous palate, from mid to strong bodied, a nice tension, fairly powerful but silky coated tannins, just enough, nothing rustic here, a nice balance to this delicious wine and even better when drank on day two. 91-92
