To finish an appetizer of Scallops with cauliflower milk. A very nice and gorgeous nose of red fruit, raspberries, strawberries, soft spices and a touch of red pepper, without this being the focal point. A soft, balanced and harmonious wine, not the most powerful Rougeard I drank, but elegant, classy and delicious. 91-92+

@Delectable Wine This is a VDF from the Moselle in France. Winemaker is Remi Gauthier. This is 100% Pinot Noir. Slamming nose. Cherry cola, big big cherries, licorice, mineral and even ripe strawberry. Super aromatic and wonderful. Unique as well. So juicy and ripen with ample lip smacking mid season cherry fruit and wonderful acidity and freshness. Terrific purity and freshness. Impressive length and so so well made. — 7 years ago

A very unique wine. Needs time to open. Notes immediately of fresh raspberries then opens up more with notes of salt on tomato. — 5 years ago

Airy with lots of aromatic floral nuances and generous red/black fruits. 2018 is very opulent! The carbonic maceration which gives this English-sweet side characteristic of Beaujolais is here associated with an aging giving it a subtle Burgundy character which suggests a good aging potential over 3, 4 years. A sure value on Beaujolais.
— 5 years ago

As with all wine, the food accompanying the wine influences your opinion. We all found this wine rather good tonight (casserole with barley, lamb & pork belly). A little too much alcohol warmth perhaps but ............. — 8 years ago
Manure. Leather. That old world funk, all up in my nose. I love it. Pair it with the deep, dry black fruit in the mouth, and I'm transported back to a quiet evening in Carcassonne. — 8 years ago

Great value for the price. Very fresh, crisp, dry wine with green apples and grapefruit notes. Pleasant acidity, not as „stingy” as usually Picpoul is. Perfect companion to simple spaghetti with olive oil, pizza with white sauce or any friend who just steps by to talk about summer vacations in the South of France. — 5 years ago
Goodness the value of a value Merlot based bottle of tastiness. Purpley it is. But it isn’t just purple drapes, there is a pot of hot spiced tea bubbling and someone is puffing a cigar just outside the window. Where are you looking to through this wine window? At your friends. Wearing purple masks but they are there for you. — 5 years ago

Lots of berries in the mouth. Perfumey after opening for an hour — 6 years ago

One of the favorites of the tasting. This 100% Grenache CDP (if my memories are good) that pinots surprisingly on red fruit notes, and olfactory referents that would lead us to Burgundy or some old Beaujolais crus (Brouilly 2006 by F. Aublanc): Potpourri, dried flowers etc. Acidity is full of promises for evolution and aging.
— 3 years ago
