Mature Burg with orange - brown rim and lots of secondary aromas and flavors. Still some juicy fruit remaining! Definitely a sweetness and softness found in this wine. No more upside, so drink up! — 7 years ago
Deliciously sparkly rosé, perfect summer wine, affordable too. Slightly sweet but not too much, fruity and floral — 8 years ago

Domaine Joliet Monopole Clos de la Perrière Fixin Premier Cru Chardonnay - Very pleasant surprise! Very developed for a 2009, but has a Dauvissat/Raveneau-ish style. Makes sense that this Cru was at one point considered for a Grand Cru classification. — 7 years ago
Full, herbal, ripe and oaky on the nose, obviously still young but more than ready to play. Odors of licorice and Fernet or Chartreuse come through. Thank goodness this has been open since yesterday, it almost certainly needed it. On the palate, bright cassis, wild strawberry and herbal liquor comes through with jasmine and finely structured tannins. Yumyumyum. — 8 years ago
Beautiful balanced nuanced burgundy with tremendous structure, fruit, acid, beginnings of leather/parchment. — 8 years ago

After a « simple » natural wine as an aperitif that seems simpler, we tell ourselves that this wine is not as remarkable as the label promises. The aromatic range is interesting, unfolding as you taste it. Typical notes of noble Syrah: violet, black fruits, pepper, blackcurrant, smoked larded notes. The volume on the palate is medium bodied and the finish might have needed a few more hours of aeration, as can be seen from the difference between the 1st and 3rd glass. Good but not wow
