Bandol Blanc Ugni Blanc Clairette 2023

Quite pale lemon , straw colour . On the nose this shows good freshness with some white peach , lemon pith , white flowers and light seabreeze notes . On the palate this has a creamy texture with white peach , lemon notes , with a saline seaside tinge . Good freshness and decent length . I can imagine this going really well with bouillabaisse. Drinking well and probably continue to so over the next 3-4 years — 6 months ago

Cuvée A Amrita Willamette Valley White Blend

Really nice wine-I’m not typically one who drinks sparkling wine but this one is really good! Fruit forward but still dry and pairs well with seafood or perfect for a toast! — 7 years ago

Herri Mina

Irouléguy Gros Manseng Blend 2022

Let’s face it, “Irouléguy” might fun to say…but it’s likely to be a hard sale at most tables. However, when the former, longtime winemaker at Pétrus is behind it, wine folks will perk up and listen. And that’s the situation we have here with Herri Mina. The story goes, Jean-Claude Berrouet after spending over 30 years as the winemaker at Chateau Pétrus, returned to his Basque homeland to create Herri Mina. He made two wines: a Blanc and a Rouge. This is the former and it’s fabulous.

Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of dinner. The 2022 Blanc is a blend of Gros Manseng, Petit Corbu, Petit Manseng. It pours a bright straw color with medium viscosity. On the nose, the wine is developing with notes of ripe tropical and orchard fruit: pineapple, green apple, some stone fruits, yellow flowers, nuts, and minerals. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is long, slightly saline and there’s a rich, creamy texture. Classy. Drink now through 2032.

Aux Brûlées Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Pinot Noir 2010

2010 vintage. Nice fill and perfect cork. Decanted with very minimal sed. Still vibrant color a shade below ruby red. Tasted 5 mins and 30 mins after decanting. Nose slightly dirtier than expected after the funk blew off 10 mins post-decant. Medium body. Two other participants involved in tasting this mentioned a banana note, which I got after a bit of searching. It was far from a Hefeweizen gimme to be sure. Was honestly captivated by a clarion bell of exquisite, red fruit tartness at the top of the middle palate that set and reset my experience throughout at every sip. 02.22.25. — 9 months ago

Campbell Ranch Vineyard Pinot Noir 2019

Delectable Wine
9.5

The 2019 Pinot Noir Campbell Ranch is fabulous. Complex and multi-dimensional, the 2019 is dynamic and super-expressive. Rose petal, lavender, spice, sage and mint play off a core of dark red/purplish berry fruit. This is a terrific Pinot from the northern part of the West Sonoma Coast. Bourgogne Hautes Côtes de Nuits Pinot Noir 2015

Gripping, austere, reductive, mineral-laced and utterly cerebral. That describes the general appeal of this very well-crafted entry level bottling. But it remains expressive, aromatic, lifted and graceful. This vintage has proven to be one of the best gateways into serious and traditional Burgundy wines for many of my customers, earning it a couple of extra points from me. — 7 years ago
