Nose is lemon, some discreet wood. vanilla extract, lanolin and an intense stony minerality. Sweet lime as well and just stunning aromatic depth and vividness. 9.4 nose. Great cut and almost zero wood on palate and what is there is lovely and complementary to the awesome acidity and freshness. Really long. Such a mineral bomb. Long. Wow this really drinks well for $32? A great wine. — 2 years ago

Glorious nose. So exuberant. Rich, dense black and red cherries. Cranberry and black plum. Gorgeous lift. Palate has great freshness and deep black and red cherry fruit. Very pure and terrific acidity fans out on the long finish. Really lithe yet classic dense, structured and classic Aloxe. Really ripe, sweet, chewy and dense tannins. Girard always delivers. Fruit set that is developing on the finish is fantastic. 2019 is a modern day 1999. As this airs it gains in opulence, sap and a little toasty oak. Ideally a few more years. — 6 months ago
The perfect wine to wind down a long week. Bright fruit flavors of raspberry, strawberry, rhubarb, and a bit of cherry cola also. Fun and casual. 100% Counoise. 4/7/23. — 2 years ago
This was a surprise. The body was lighter than I expected, the nose practically busting with forest floor and dusty ripe red fruits, dusty tannins, but for this meal it paired perfectly. Drank at Arnaud’s in New Orleans. #pinotforpresident — 3 years ago

I don't always always drink Sancerre, but when I do... I prefer Monts Damnés. — 5 years ago
I was a little concerned when I found this had aged so long. It was so delicious. Ripe juicy fruit with not too much oak, Soft mellowed tannins. so glad this got the extra age. — 6 months ago

Very nice flavours of oak chocolate black fruit blackberry leather. Well balanced tannins. Delicious— complex. One of my favourites this year! — 2 years ago
Chilled this burgundy felt restrained, minimal, and one dimensional. As it opened up though, paired with a delicious bouillabaisse, escargot and the best foie gras I’ve ever had, thus started to really come into its own. Medium body, a refined minerality but with delicious notes of crisp apple, baking spice, and an some richer, pastry like notes on the finish, this wine truly came into its own with some warmth and time. Not too rich, not too dry, a perfect balance of crisp fruit, minerality, and baked richness for shellfish dishes with a tomato base. — 3 years ago
Paired it with Cheetos, baked.... of course — 4 years ago
Fantastic. Wonderful nose and with a taste to match. — 5 years ago
Stone fruits and good acid. Tastes like a pear tart. (But without the sweetness.) — 6 years ago

2024. This year’s nouveau wine from D&G is very similar to the last two vintages that we’ve enjoyed. Slightly tart cranberry and red berry flavors. Served chilled with chicken and sausage gumbo. — 4 months ago
