A nose of heavy citrus with an under pining of fresh cut grass. The flavor is heavily citrus on the palate, dry, with a minerality and flavors of lemon, peach, and high acidic fruits. The finish is slightly vegetal and surprisingly dry, but very tasty. Paired with Thai food. — 5 years ago
Enjoyed while cleaning out the boss' cellar. Say what you want about this wine, but the one thing you can say is that this wine is incredibly consistent. This wine reminds me of the family uncle who always gives you some silver dollars at Christmas...even though you are now a grown adult. And if you actually listen to his crazy advice on investing when you were a kid, you just might be able to be that Uncle when you grow up. This wine is a thoroughbred. Meant to be consumed at least after 10 years. And this wine is in a really good spot. The nose does show a tiny bit of age as does the palate. This is front-loaded with slightly aged blackberry and a bit brambly. This wine smoothed out quite a bit over 3 hours. Finish with very nice integration, a hint of stiff oak tannin but a lot of it has resolved. Very enjoyable. This wine still has another 10 or 15 years left. — 7 years ago

So, the night before Thanksgiving, opening a classic claret with my closest Brit. Cassis, elegance, depth and character to go so deep it's crazy. What a way to start the holiday. — 9 years ago
@Bob Bressler you killed it again Bob!
2 hours Decanted and it is beautiful. Each sip seduces you into taking another. — 9 years ago

From a great old looking bottle with a mid shoulder fill. Cork is fully saturated and the crud under the capsule had formed a strong seal. Slow-ox’d for a few hours, then decanted for an hour or two before taken to L’Escargot in Carmel. Amber tawny rims with a reddish tawny core. Crazy nose right from the start. Notes of sweet black cherries, tobacco leaf, plums, black pepper, ash and crusty wood, pencil shavings, some just unwrapped cigar and some menthol. Silky in the mouth with firm structure and soft but present acidity. Long and memorable finish. Outstanding performance over several hours. — 5 years ago
Fruit is still there! One of my favorites! Bob Foley is as good a winemaker as there is on the planet! Big, fruit driven, plum and rich, but incredibly balanced. Just so good!! — 6 years ago
Young wine with mild OH on the nose paired with very nice fruit. Plums, prunes, and blackberry on the palate, but lighter than most cabs. Nice finish, and the recommendation was spot on as this wine definitely punches above it's weight at $20+. Curious as to other opinions. — 8 years ago
Pinot from the most unsuspecting region (Baden), you would be crazy to not buy this in 6 or 12 packs, it's that delicious and around $30! — 9 years ago

If the 2010 Dauvissat forest on the prior night was about pleasure then this is about pain. Piercing; incredibly palate staining grapefruit rind and lemon segments. Long and tense. Still felt crazy young (or shutdown?) We did enjoy it but I’d wait on this if you can — 8 years ago
Drank this at a crazy lunch at Guy Savoy in Paris and will never forget it. Such a fleshy fruity memorable bottle. — 8 years ago
Very light but packs a mineral, smoke & funk punch — 9 years ago
Crazy rosatto by the king of Etna Frank Cornelissen ! Powerful, complex and intriguing nose on wild strawberries, pomegranate, grapefruit, cut grass... super fresh palate with kicking acidity, high bitterness and... tannins ! Radical wine and I love it ! — 9 years ago

Lemons and crisp minerality on the nose, lemon heavy on the front flavor, with a crisp minerality on the mid-palate. Heavy citrus, it's delicious. — 5 years ago
