Amazing red roses do carnation, raspberry juice, smoky peanut butter cookie, clear cranberry reduction, but light on its feet, and no plastic surgery disasters here. Loamy earth, with honeysuckle and dragonfruit aromas. Seamless entry, strawberry-raspberry-cran with light pepper, graphite and smoke, plummy finish that echoes the roses. — 9 years ago
Nervy, full of sour cherry, cran-rasb fruit leather, with a strong backbone of acidity, and shores of dark minerality. Lithe. — 9 years ago
#thanksgiving #Volnay deep crimson with watery delicate surface. Extends to the edge. Ruby crimson Cran variation
The nose is mushroom, damp soil with some asphalt. Brambley Bing cherry, raspberry.
I like the fluidity. Good structure with cranberry type acid. Medium body. Black cherry, more raspberry. The finish is supple and quick.

Man this was good. Rasp and cherry cran. Spice. Not your everyday pinot. — 10 years ago
Holding strong, great cran & raspberry fruits, a touch of violet and herb, delish. — 11 years ago
Ruby color. Cran/straw berries. Light and lip snacking refreshing but not a trifle. Some deep satisfaction in the mouthfeel — 6 years ago

2004 un cran en dessous du Carbonnieux, mais très réussi. — 9 years ago
Having had this one a few times (2012,14), this is one is really finding a nice balance with more time. Fruit is turning away from Pom/Cran toward soft cherry/rasp...medium body and length, this still has nice tannin structure. One bottle remains - Costco $22 — 10 years ago
Light ruby with slight garnet edges. An earthy nose with cranberry and cherry fruit. Light bodied with sour cran/cherry fruit and mushroom. Dry with excellent length. $18. — 10 years ago
Smells like a Reuben on Rye or Bologna or summer sausage. With a strong smell of old pepper. Not unpleasant though. There is also strawberry soda and dusty oak, and a hot, coated grill with toasted cocoanut. The palate is configured in a completely different way, with the steel of the grill replaced with a sweated copper and peppery plum, sugary cran and cast iron, with a black raisin back note. Really an interesting grape! I would love to see this thing done in different styles for comparison, but this is definitely a top offering. Long after the sip, the wine gives you a stripe of bold fruit tannin just across the front teeth that lingers like a grape-induced gap. — 10 years ago
Rhubarb, cran, very clean. Excellent, best rose I've tasted. — 11 years ago
Solid. Fresh, lively. Citrus and cran on nose. — 8 years ago
Bright cran-cherry nose, with an underlying touch of wood smoke and wet earth. Orange peel and spices too. Light to medium bodied coupled with a juicy mid. Finish is long and the light berry fruit continues to repeat. Acid is present but very cohesive with the other components. This is the real shit. Can't wait to try more. Still young and primary outside of the super expensive nose. Better to hold, but I couldn't wait, and it was great in its infancy. — 9 years ago
Dark brick red but has excellent clarity. Aromas of violets, moss, tar, maple bacon, cocoa powder and strong ethanol. Medium bodied but extremely high in tannin and acidity. Flavors of cran-grape juice, leather and all those other things on the nose. Finished extremely dry and feeing like you just licked a piece of wood. — 9 years ago
This one grew on me. Took a few hours, but really began to meld. Went from a fruity pulpy strawberry to a rhubarb and green olive nose bursting with carnation and Rose aromas, and a blood orange, smoky raspberry, and cran-apple pudding, without being sweet. Really well crafted. — 9 years ago
On the first day, it's very light and is like a Beaujolais nouveau that you'd actually drink. By the third day, it really bulks up. Wild strawberries with a cran-apple finish that lingers without overstaying its welcome. — 9 years ago
Brillant and transparent. No oak, as they say, and true to them. Quite closed, but great reticent red berries (cran&straw) cherries and light prunes. Great crushed minerals and dusty limestone tones. Serralunga and it shows it on the palate. Concentrated but elegant, quite big framework but transparent. 2013 still young. 90-92. — 10 years ago
Peppered Beef jerky, pomegranate, prune, fig, tar, fruit leather and smoke and Boysenberry fruit on the nose. raspberry rubber, rhubarb and cran/cherry on the palate. I want duck with a cranberry reduction.. — 10 years ago

2011 St. Innocent ‘Zenith Vineyard’ Pinot Noir- The Zenith Vineyard is St. Innocent’s estate vineyard, located eleven miles northwest of Salem, Oregon. This 2011 Pinot Noir shows wonderful forest floor and wet stone character on the nose with blood orange rind, cran-cherry and cigar ash also coming in aromatically. The aromatic range is seriously good right now. The palate is silky smooth right now as the mouthfeel entices. The richness reminds me more of a 2012 bottling as there is a seamless quality to the wine that grips you. Red and dark fruits weave together, with also citrus and earthy tones quite primary. Downright delicious, this is a stunning bottling by eminent winemaker, Mark Vlossak. Drink 2018-2028- 93 — 6 years ago
