"Odedi"
Dark Inky in color with a deep purple rim. This Petite Syrah is not showing age at all.
Fruity nose with oak, cola, vanilla, licorice, cherries, blackberries, figs, alcohol, raisins, peppercorn, leather, spices, mint, coffee chocolates and smoke.
Full-bodied and bold, yet elegant and smooth, with medium plus acidity and gorgeous legs.
Dry and fruity on the palate, with blackberries, figs, cooked plums, sweet cherries, oak, vanilla, licorice, light cloves, coffee, bitter herbs, light vegetables and lots of peppercorn.
Long finish with firm and round tannins, and black pepper.
This 10 year old Petite Sirah, is very fruit forward and complex, with many layers, and nicely balanced. Needs three hours to fully open up.
Would probably be just as good in the next three years. Good by itself and would definitely be awesome with a big piece of steak on the grill.
I paired it with light appetizers and Cheeses, and with some nice weather by the pool.
100% Petite Sirah. 63% from Lake County and 37% from Napa Valley.
15.5 % alcohol by volume. — 9 years ago
