Sourced from Pinot Noir vines, the Cresta d’ Oro Vineyard is located in the Green Valley of Sonoma County. On the nose this takes on delicate red cherry, guava puree and orange rind aromas that build in the glass. The palate shows really good freshness with intense red fruit and blood orange flavors, with wild mushroom undertones. 1985 Giacosa Collina Rionda di Serralunga Nebbiolo. Group lunch at Ner w Hrtn, McC. Raisiny and pruney at first. More sweet than I tend to like. But it def mellowed and lost some of that cloying sweetness after some time in the decanted. We only decanted right before drinking and it prob could have used more time opening up.
