A beautiful wine.
Nose: white flowers. Lemon. Mountain meadow. A hint of sponti.
Palate: so clean. Drinking a mountain stream. Finely powders minerals. Lemon flowers.
More than the sum of its parts. It has an elegance.
This wine seems to oscillate between very dense meursault and a wispy chassagne like thing from vintage to another. A huge swing.

Medium bodied. Leather, red fruit, tobacco yum — 9 months ago
The 2022 Ribolla Gialla wafts from the glass with a vivid blend of crushed green apple, candied lime and mint aromas. This is round and soothing, offset by mineral-tinged orchard fruits. Ginger notes resonate toward the medium-bodied close. This finishes wickedly fresh. $25.00 (Eric Guido, Vinous, May 2024) — a year ago

With Podere Pradarolo, it’s all extreme. Extremely long macerations for all the whites and Rose’s. Ex Alba sees 45 days on its Trebbiano skins then heads to the barrels. This is less than a fourth the time Vej sees on skins by the way.
I prefer Ex Alba. It’s less hops and more florals. Spiced citrus bitter peppery apple cider vinegar tea. — 4 years ago
Ripe fruits, medium+ body, just lovely. — 4 months ago
Barnyardy! — 5 months ago
Nice complexity. Some lemon citrus but with a floral fruity base. — 6 months ago
Citrus forward with notable viscosity in a way so many skin contact wines could only dream of. — 7 months ago
Citrus, gooseberries, flint, hint of gin-like botanicals. Meyer lemon on the palate, similar aromas to a Sancerre vur fuller bodied. — 10 months ago
22/6/8-10 with scallop crudo, fresh homemade tagliolini al Portonat, frico, etc. side by side with the Gnemiz Sol, this was deeper, more spherical, and more complex. A pretty remarkable range of aromas - from classic Sauvignon scents to richer peach and nectarine, honey, mint, vanilla, cool stone, etc. The palate was very deep and richly satisfying while still being sprightly and drinkable, with tons of minerality that was somehow round rather than salty. This was one of the best young Sauvignon Blancs I’ve had, and I’d love to see it with some age. — 3 years ago
Taste the age. Nectar, acetate, smooth, warm spring flowers, muscat. — 4 years ago
Very nice and right. — 4 months ago
Peppery plum is really shining through on this one. Red licorice and dried spice accents. Tannic grape skin gives it some grip. Long raisin finish. Like the Sun-Maid boxes I ate as a kid. A little sweet for me, but still good quality. Also added some to the passata I’m making from heirloom tomatoes, and it’s quite nice. — 7 months ago
Deep ruby rose color, with violet hints over a medium body. Nose is rich, with rose petal, orange peel, peppery hints and maybe some baked rhubarb or berry jam with hints of pine and wet wood. The palate is vanilla, rose, raspberry compote, and beautifully integrated tannin that grip but don’t dry, with big meaty, almost jerky like notes that linger for a long time, with a taste of bbq sauce on the finish. — 9 months ago

Mineral lean. Almost thin. But delicious concrete and flint. Last year for this vintage I think — 4 months ago
