2022. Weather was really encouraging rosé on the patio, so we were happy to oblige! Loads of chunky sediment that was easily kept in the bottle (kind of). Delicious pink grapefruit, strawberry, watermelon. Mouthwatering acidity, but balanced with the fruit. — 2 years ago
Lighter, red fruits. Complex and interesting — 4 years ago
Maybe the pettiest white wine in the glass I've seen, hauntingly pale. It's got great acid, lots of tart peach, beautiful texture -- feels like it keeps changing long after a sip. I'd lodge where this Naomi lodges, if you catch my drift. #oldtestamentjoke — 5 years ago
Pretty good. Lots of fruit. Way better than last year. — 6 years ago
Coconut water! Cortese, not grenache gris! — 6 years ago
Bright ruby red color. Bountiful aromas of red berries and dried violets. Pallet is full of strawberry and raspberry fruit with hints of black tea, baking spices, earth and pepper spice. Just a bit of a “gamey” quality as well. Nice hint of oak on the clean finish. Fine tannins and bright acidity. Creamy texture. Rich and nicely rounded. Absolutely a “California-Style” Pinot Noir. Nice choice, Mark Smith. — 2 years ago
At a Mendocino wedding stumbled on this tasting room a few years back. Brought this home and last night, well, WOW. More of a Grenache gestalt than Syrah after 90 minute decant, pure and layered red bright berry, some bay leaf. Wish I had another bottle to see how this ages. — 5 years ago
Started off tight with honey and came across a little sweet. As it opened up Bosc pear and apple came to the forefront with orange peel. Had with banh mi and tum yum soup. — 5 years ago
That time of year again. My second vintage of this funky rosé. Just like I remembered. Some polarizing reviews, but I love the wildness of this Grenache Gris. Just right for turning leaves and Fall harvest. Would also be nice as a Thanksgiving aperitif if you can wait. But I had it with leftovers. — 9 months ago
This is beautiful. The nose lasts long and smells thick with rose, dry dirt, potpourri, dark ripe fruit. There’s still pretty grippy tannin structure and acidity that makes your mouth salivate and desire more. The rose really comes out on the palate, maybe a touch of lavender, moist funky dirt, ripe mulled blackberries. The finish is long. The ripeness of the blackberry really hits right at the finish and hangs on. Give this a bit of a decant, at least 30 minutes. I want more, but have none. — 3 years ago
You would have no idea if you tasted this blindfold it was from CA - this is Old World Northern Rhone Syrah. Good acidity, tannins, and fruit. Love wine from this producer! — 5 years ago
Tart cherry flavor, rich without being heavy — 6 years ago
2012 excellent. Well balance full body with black cherry and earthy tones — 7 years ago
