Very enjoyable Wednesday Wine Committee lunch today with @Weston Eidson & @Colby Siratt hosting. Same format as always...1 sparkler, 3 whites, 4 reds and 1 dessert wine all tasted blind.
When compared to the other two whites, this had more obvious oak. Very light notes of sweet lemon cream, brioche, and sea salt. My favorite of the flight. I called this burgundy between mersault or chassagne-Montrachet. — 6 years ago
Easily drinkable.
Sweet start, dry finish. So I love that I can buy this for $10.99 a bottle. A lot of friends can drink this. I can serve to lots of different palates and proceeds go to an excellent cause — 6 years ago
Monthly wine group met up and had an Italian wine night at one of the local Italian BYOB spots. Really fantastic Italian wines were brought, as well as some random bottles that were outside the theme (but worthy of opening regardless of theme).
Awesome Barolo brought by @Colby Siratt . This didn’t get the benefit of a long decant like the others, but it still tasted great. Bouquet on this was gorgeous...raspberries, roses, espresso. Bing cherry, leather and herbs round out the palate. This will improve over the next few years. — 7 years ago

Another weekly wine Committee lunch that I was able to attend, hosted by @Weston Eidson & @Colby Siratt . Excellent job, fellas! All wines tasted blind as usual.
At a very good drinking window. I don't foresee it getting much better in terms of fruit, so drink now if you've got it. Still some red licorice here as well as dried cranberries. More dusty and earthy notes coming out at this point. — 8 years ago

Awesome french champagne. All typical french champagne traits were present (brioche, crisp green apple, sweet lemon, loads of minuscule bubbles). Delicious. — 8 years ago
Great wine! Got a hint of pear and crisp Apple notes. Pleasant aroma almost like an olive oil smell when cooking. Enjoyed this with cuts of Colby cheese — 9 years ago

This was plush and dense while also being very youthful and gripping. Dark fruit dominant. Black Forest cake, dark cocoa dusted dates, roasted plum and a touch of saddle leather. I called this left bank 2012 vintage. — 6 years ago

Acidity was significantly sharper here than white number one. Lots of lemon and lime. Complex. Underripe pineapple highlighted the finish. I called this Chablis. — 6 years ago

This had a sense of familiarity to it. It reminds me of a lighter version of Charles Heidsieck Brut Reserve. Similar notes of baked key lime pie and toasted oak on the nose, but the palate showed less honey/nougat. Maybe more limestone. Very solid. I called it NV French champagne. — 6 years ago

I can probably count on one hand how many Sangiovese type wines I've had, so this was nice to try. This seems to be hitting a peak drinking window that will be open for a while. Lots of leather and charred black cherries. — 8 years ago

I believe this was my first Albariño, so it was hard to guess correctly here! Thought it was possibly an Alsatian Pinot Gris due to the oily and lengthy finish. — 8 years ago
Had this with Colby and Morg at Mon Ami Gabi. Super good — 8 years ago

Out of the four reds, this changed the most in the glass. Very floral and pretty. Sweetness tobacco, black cherries, and an herbal finish. Potpourri too. I called this right bank post 2010 vintage. Youthful for sure. — 6 years ago
@Delectable Wine : This is the Roland Lavantureux Vau de Vey...I didn’t see it in the database.

I picked up a lot of petrol on the nose here at first. Surprised this was Chablis. Wasn’t overly steely. Low acidity. Lots of compact tropical fruits that are all slightly tart. I called this Alsatian and couldn’t decide between Riesling or pinot Gris. — 6 years ago
Monthly WTF guys blind tasting group. This month was our annual, and famed, Left Bank vs Right Bank theme. All wines served blind as usual. Started off with a Rosé and a champagne. Great night.
Another very good wine. Super soft. Tastes more modern in style. Ripe. Mixed berry pie, chocolate covered cherry cordials and pipe tobacco notes. Balances fruit and savory notes. With an extended decant, this is very enjoyable now, but will get better. I called this ‘14 Left Bank. Thanks @Colby Siratt . — 6 years ago

Wow! Not only was this my red of the day, it was the wine of the day. The nose on this, whether it was where it was placed in the line up or just the American Oak, was profound. A wine that I would be ok only smelling. Coconut and dill on the nose. Very silky textured on the palate, with Mexican vanilla and a kick of blackberries. Fantastic! — 8 years ago

This was my White of the day. Intoxicating nose of honeycomb and tart melon. Very sweet finish. My guess was German Riesling...not too far off on the area at least! — 8 years ago
Monthly wine group meet up. This month's theme was non-typical reds from Napa. Wines were tasted blind. Always a great time. 👌
Don't get to drink petit Verdot often! I've been fortunate to try other Bremer wines the past few weeks and am loving their style. They hold their wines back longer than most. This wine is a giant...needs lots of air. Not quite a bull in a China shop, but close. Plums, blackberries, dates, and black licorice. Some lavender as well. Big boy stuff! Awesome, @Colby Siratt ! — 8 years ago

Lovely aromatics here. Mix of red and black fruit. Tar, pipe tobacco, graphite and black cherry cola. This picked up steam the longer it was open. I’d hold these. I called this left bank 2012 vintage. — 6 years ago
