This 2009 Syrah is a dreamy rich luscious thick smelling bundle of yumminess. On the nose is a nice peppery smell. A little leather to give it that big bad ass feeling. On the palate you get a slight dark cherry with a little smokiness. Letting this breathe a little before calling the huge grippiness mid palate. Dark plum color. Uninteresting nose. Plum flavors. Sweet, but not cloying. Light balanced tannins and acidity. Full flavor without being heavy. Very easy to drink. I really like this wine. — 11 years ago

The nose is dense and heavy with maple syrup and maraschino cherries. On the palette, it's velvety and compact, with layers of coffee, kirsch and finishes sweet. This is why I love Napa! — 9 years ago

Enjoyed this wine with a dry aged Delmonico cooked on the grill, served with Hoppin' John, and zucchini and tomatoes from our garden. The intense berry fruit in this Cab and its moderate acidity and mild tannins were a great match for this menu. — 11 years ago
