Pleasant cheer and dry finish — 5 years ago
Young and fine. Modest dark fruits, very light tannins, medium bodied, pleasant nose and finish post-aeration. Not much spice in the 2018. Very good for the price. — 5 years ago
Upfront confession. This is my absolute most favorite winery in Napa. The Clarke family are super people (not to mention Spencer and Amizetta are from Texas). This wine is a beautiful deep ruby leaning almost to purple in color. Great hints of dark fruit, baking spices, cedar and leather on the nose. On the palate there are fantastic flavors of blueberries, black plums, dark cherries, cocoa and dark chocolate. The tannins are fully ripe and sweet. A very balanced wine with a long fruity finish. On top of making great wines they have an unparalleled view of Lake Hennessey from their outdoors tasting area. The only thing that would make this wine better is if I was sitting there enjoying it with the Clarke’s. — 6 years ago
This is a 50 50 blend of Syrah and mourvedre, the latter of which was added because it doesn't ripen as quickly, a problem the growers ran into growing Syrah on their soil.
It's a very dark, opaque, purple wine. The aroma is full, raspberry, tar, rose petals, vanilla. It's really tasty, chalky and b vitamins (which I like), bright, broad tannins (if that's a thing).

A new favorite. Great tobacco and spice flavors play off the blackberry. Medium body, very low acid. — 7 years ago
Fresh and juicy Chardonnay. Lemon is the dominant flavor. Good stuff. — 7 years ago
Came in 2nd in a little wine tasting I conducted! Nice nose and very refined. Good cherry and plum flavors, but lacked depth and boldness. Not bad, but expected more at this price range. Actually think this would be better if you Pnp versus decanting for an hour. Wish it showed better. — 8 years ago

Crisp, clear, peachy — 6 years ago
A study and functional heavyweight - bramble on and on. Nice thick mouthfeel with enough articulate acid to be nuanced. Solid value at 13$...Kisela, of course — 7 years ago
As usually happens in life we sometimes have great surprises... this guy is a prime example of that..an increadable value coming out of the great down under. Dark plum acetone and spice to the nose. Slightly sweet plum dark fruit followed by licorice spice pepper to the palate. Nice mouthfeel but a bit watery on the back end. Velvety tannins and a med plus finish. A very enjoyable experience at an amazing value. — 7 years ago

Cherry, black currant, medium body, light on tanin. Easy to drink. Needs to decant a bit. Gift from Traci. — 4 years ago
