2014 Dark Side. Slightly peppery nose. Earthy, spicy, full-bodied fruit. Signature Clos Pepe. — 9 years ago
It's a 2000 that I'm drinking on the other side of peak. Decanted like I've not decanted before. It got there, though. Delicious. — 10 years ago
This wine is awesome. The end! Deep color, rich and lush mid-palate, nice acidity, soft silky tannins. Get in my belly! — 10 years ago
2009 vintage... Beautiful color! Smooth! — 11 years ago
A dense glass-staining purple, the '06 Charles Smith Syrah 'Royal City' is a monumental wine. Big, pungent aromas of game, truffles, black olives and dried fruits exploded from the glass. Complex, but still seamlessly balanced. The tastes stayed on the palate for a seemingly infinite length of time. Simply wonderful! — 13 years ago

With Collin. Nice finish. Creamy, full body. — 8 years ago
My last 2011 bottle. The estate of Sette Ponti lies in the heart of the Chianti zone, 15 miles northwest of the city of Arezzo, past the village of San Giustino Valdarno. Crognolo, aged in French Allier barriques, deep red with red fruit aromas and sweet perfumed spice. On the palate raspberry and cherry flavors, gentle spice and soft tannins with great mouthfeel. Good balance, lingering finish ending with some oak and mineral tones. Aged well. — 8 years ago
Such beautiful expressions of aged Chablis, tried the 86/88's side by side, definite aged cumquat on the '86, with a little botrytis, the '88 was a little leaner, but needed time to open up. Amazing wines. — 10 years ago
Nelson Sauvin and cascade hops. Ultra dry. — 10 years ago
Anniversary dinner! — 11 years ago
Earthy and still a bit tannic, a darker side of Lalande. I think it will shine in another 5-10 years. — 11 years ago
Got to try the '95 and '98 side by side. Incredible tasting. — 11 years ago

Cyril Zang Cider! Taking me back to my Mormon Martinelli drinking youth. — 14 years ago
Ha! The comments on this wine are amazingly varied. I found it very overt on a chocolate tip, and more robust on the fruit side than your usual PINOT...but I really enjoyed it, would buy again.... — 8 years ago
As much as I hoped that this classic-year, classic-producer bottling would hold up to 22 years of cellaring - it didn’t.
It was still wine, but on the flat side of the spectrum and losing its balance, — 8 years ago

Fine Sauv Blanc, definitely a food wine. — 11 years ago
It's on the sweeter side. It's great for aperitif or tapas. I think it will also work with desserts. — 12 years ago

Nice, aged Cabernet. Debated opening this one. This started more on the plum and raisin side and a little muted. 15 minutes later? Fig and mushroom with basil and oregano, but not a whole lot of fruit. 30 minutes after that? Dirty black cherry, plums, seemed to find itself after a 31 year sleep. Rather substantial weight in the middle. Finishes with a gritty note. Tannins are definitely dropping here and this one is showing all it has. Good time to drink now! — 7 years ago
